For me it was a wonderful and joyous occasion, a time to celebrate the amazing provision of this new site. At last a long awaited vision is beginning to be realized for Hope School. I enjoyed every part of the Open House but my highlights include: the tangible excitement of those present; the singing of ‘Voice of Truth’ during the dedication ceremony; the multiple colored pin wheels spinning (representing the move of God’s Spirit); seeing the building and rooms (and imagining the new buildings along side); the wall of prayer bricks each one giving Praise to God for all that He has done; and the ceremonial “ground breaking” as the shovel split the ground in dedication of the foundations of the new buildings. One of the key elements which struck me most at this event however is the way in which God works within His body, the church. Originally built as a Bible School by the Wesleyan Church, the Hope North site now has a new lease of life. The partnership between Hope & Global Partners (The Mission arm of the Wesleyan Church here in Cambodia) has been exemplified by grace, faith and an ability to recognize and embrace God’s wider kingdom purposes. Their partnership & support continues & I can only marvel at the way they have generously laid a foundation on which others can build. This week I asked Ueli Summers, who is heading up the planning and building work for Hope North, for prayer points. Please join with us in prayer for the following: 1. Please pray that we would receive building permission in July (or earlier.) 2. Please pray for the ‘building team’ as they manage the large amount of work needing to be done on plans and quotations. 3. Please pray that we can hire another full time draughtsman as soon as possible who can work with Ueli on the plans. 4. Please pray that the construction goes really smoothly as the timeline is tight. Many thanks to all those who worked so hard to plan such a wonderful Open House. Particularly thanks to Rachel, Diane, Paul, Alan and Sarah. Building Hope
‘God was kind and let me become an expert builder.
I laid a foundation on which others have built.
But we must each be careful how we build, because Christ is the only
foundation.’
1 Corinthians 3:10-11
I have just returned from the Open House event at Hope North which took
place at 10:00am on Wednesday 14th. For me it was a wonderful and joyous
occasion, a time to celebrate the amazing provision of this new site. At last a
long awaited vision is beginning to be realized for Hope School.
I enjoyed every part of the Open House but my highlights include: the
tangible excitement of those present; the singing of ‘Voice of Truth’ during the
dedication ceremony; the multiple colored pin wheels spinning (representing the
move of God’s Spirit); seeing the building and rooms (and imagining the new
buildings along side); the wall of prayer bricks each one giving Praise to God for
all that He has done; and the ceremonial “ground breaking” as the shovel split
the ground in dedication of the foundations of the new buildings.
One of the key elements which struck me most at this event however is the
way in which God works within His body, the church. Originally built as a Bible
School by the Wesleyan Church, the Hope North site now has a new lease of
life. The partnership between Hope & Global Partners (The Mission arm of the
Wesleyan Church here in Cambodia) has been exemplified by grace, faith and
an ability to recognize and embrace God’s wider kingdom purposes. Their
partnership & support continues & I can only marvel at the way they have
generously laid a foundation on which others can build.
This week I asked Ueli Summers, who is heading up the planning and
building work for Hope North, for prayer points. Please join with us in prayer
for the following:
1. Please pray that we would receive building permission in July (or earlier.)
2. Please pray for the ‘building team’ as they manage the large amount of
work needing to be done on plans and quotations.
3. Please pray that we can hire another full time draughtsman as soon as
possible who can work with Ueli on the plans.
4. Please pray that the construction goes really smoothly as the timeline is
tight.
Many thanks to all those who worked so hard to plan
such a wonderful Open House. Particularly thanks to
