The Main Street Mornington Festival is bringing the elements together: wine, food, music, art, entertainment, shopping and fun.
There will be growers of fresh seasonal produce, delicious food, and a large selection of Australia’s best wine makers, showcasing what the Mornington Peninsula has to offer.
A number of stages will incorporate local peninsula based bands, as well as a community stage, roving artists and musicians. Local art will be featured and a children’s arcade will provide entertainment throughout the day.

These creepy-crawly choc pop balls are an easy and fun afternoon activity with a delicious treat to enjoy at the end.
Ingredients
175g milk or white chocolate285g sponge cake (Madeira, chocolate etc.)15-20g milk chocolate to attach lollipop sticks200g milk chocolate100g black sprinkles80g liquorice lacesSilver ballsYou will also need 16 cake pop sticks/lollipop sticks
Method
Melt the 175g of chocolate in a microwave, stirring every 20 seconds or so. Set aside to cool.
Crumble sponge cake into the bowl of melted chocolate and mix. Gather up small handfuls of mixture and roll into balls. Place onto a lined baking tray.
Melt the 15-20g of milk chocolate in a microwavable bowl. Dip each lollipop stick into the chocolate and carefully insert into the top of each ball. Place into the fridge for about 30 mins or until fi rm.
Meanwhile melt 200g of milk chocolate in a microwaveable bowl then set aside to cool.
Place the black sprinkles onto a plate. Using scissors to cut the
liquorice laces to size – about one and a half inches for each ‘leg’. You will need to make eight legs for each of your cake pops.
Carefully dip the bottom of a cake pop into the cooled melted chocolate then use a teaspoon to guide the chocolate up and over the sides and top. Roll the cake pop through the sprinkles, then place onto a lined baking tray. Repeat this process with each cake pop.
Use a toothpick to carefully make eight indentations around each spider’s body then gently push the liquorice sticks into the indentations. For the eyes you can use icing or edible silver balls. Attach using a small amount of the melted chocolate.
