"Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father Which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy Name? and in Thy Name have cast out devils? and in Thy Name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity."

Jesus does not deny that they did the mighty works that only the Holy Ghost can accomplish by way of men. But He did deny ever knowing them. These weren't backsliders. These were wicked, unregenerate, reprobates. These were the seed of Satan.

I will admit that true manifestation is the evidence of the Holy Spirit doing mighty acts, but it is NOT the evidence of the individual being Spirit-filled, even though that individual has an abundance of those manifestations.

It is receiving the Word of truth for the day in which you live. Jesus never did stress the importance of the Works as He did the Word. He knew that if the people got the WORD the works would follow.

Faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word. And the Word of God is the Waters of separation, washed by the hearing by the water by the Word. Hearing the Word separates you.

Hear – to receive

Now, the unbeliever, or the man that sinned was outside. Here's a little part we don't want to pass: that the waters of separation must be kept in a clean place. And the preacher that preaches the Gospel should be a clean upright man, not a cigarette fiend, not a dope addict, not a drunkard, or a golf player on Sunday afternoon, and so forth like that. Notice, it must be kept in a clean sanctified holy vessel, the one that holds the mystery of God in his heart.

It must be in a clean church, not where they play bingo in the basement, lotteries, have soup suppers out there, and dances for the young folk. Why, brother, if it ever gets to a place I have to do that to hold a audience, I'll quit and take me a bunch of tents and go up to Canada and build a cabin to live in. Amen. I'd rather do it than to know that I'd compromised upon the pure unadulterated Gospel of the Lord Jesus.  Give me fellowship with Him. Amen. Preach the Word. You don't have to have all this nonsense. Keep with the Word. And the Word separates sinners from his sin.

ECCLESIASTES 1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

Vanity – vapour or breath (that which is empty, without permanent value) 

ECCLESIASTES 1:3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

ROMANS 10:12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 

ROMANS 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

ROMANS 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? JOHN 6:28, 29 ……What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Heard – to hear or to hearken, to give audience

Brother Branham > When God sends a man, He goes in the man that He sends… Jesus > if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.

ROMANS 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. IT’S A SUPERNATURAL HAPPENING THAT COMES UPON THE BELIEVER THAT ALLOWS HIM/HER TO HEAR OR TO RECEIVE THE SPOKEN WORD. ROMANS 10:18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
