Youneedtobeawareofthefollowingkeybitsofinformationbeforeyoubegininstallation:
EnterpriseManagerCloudControlcancommunicateonlywithOracleManagementAgent12candnotwithanyotherearlierreleaseoftheManagementAgent.YoucannotconfigureyourexistingAgentstocommunicatewithEnterpriseManager12cOMS.
Ifyouareinstallingonahostthathasmultiplehostnames,youneedtopassthefullyqualifiedhostnameusingORACLE_HOSTNAMEargument.Ensurethatthehostnamedoesnotcontainanunderscore"_"otherwisetheinstallationmightfail.

EnterpriseManagerCloudControlInstallationWizardinstallsJavaDevelopmentKit(JDK)1.6.v24andanewOracleWeblogicServer(WLS)10.3.5.ThereisnoneedforyoutohaveanexistingOracleWebLogicServerinstanceasitwasthecasewithEnterpriseManager11g.ItisrecommendedtousethisoptionratherthaninstallingEnterpriseManager12conanexistingWebLogicServerinstance.
However,ifyoualreadyhaveaWebLogicServerinstanceinstalled,pleasecheckthat:

OracleWebLogicServerinstallationisatypicalinstallation,andevenifyouchoosetoperformacustominstallation,ensurethatthecomponentschosenforcustominstallationarethesameastheonesassociatedwithatypicalinstallation.
YoudonothaveanyotherOracleFusionMiddlewareproductinstalledinthatMiddlewareHome.
YouwillinstallEnterpriseManagerCloudControlwiththesameOSUserwhoinstalledtheWebLogicServer.
JRockitisnotusedforWebLogicServerasthisisnotsupported.
YoushouldnotinstallOMSonaNFSmounteddrive.However,ifyouareforcedtoinstallonsuchashareddrive,specifytheInstanceBaseDirectory(gc_inst)onanonNFSmounteddrive.
Prerequisites
Youneedtoensurethefollowingmandatoryprerequisitesaremetbeforeyoubegintheinstallation:

YoumustuseastaticIPaddress.IfyouuseadynamicIPaddress,theinstallationmightfail.
Ensurethatthehostnamespecifiedin/etc/hostsfileisunique,andthatitmapstothecorrectIPaddress.Followingistherecommendedformatofthe/etc/hostsfile:

EnsurethatthelatestPatchSetUpdates(PSU)orCriticalPatchUpdates(CPU)isappliedtothedatabase.
DBControlSYSMANschemaiscreatedinthedatabaseaspartofthedatabaseinstall.Youneedtodeconfigureitusingthefollowingcommand:
a.)SettheORACLE_HOMEandORACLE_SIDenvironmentvariable:

InternetConnectionRequirement:

1.InvoketheEnterpriseManagerCloudControlInstallationWizard

2.EnterMyOracleSupportDetails
(Optional)EnteryourmyOracleSupportcredentialstoenableOracleConfigurationManager.IfyoudonotwanttoenableOCM,untickthecheckbox"Iwishtoreceivesecurityupdates".IfthehostfromwhereyouarerunningtheinstallationwizarddoesnothaveaconnectiontoInternet,thenonlyentertheemailaddress.Aftercompletingtheinstallation,manuallycollecttheconfigurationinformationanduploadittoMyOracleSupport.

3.InstallSoftwareUpdates
Selectoneofthefollowingsourcesfromwherethesoftwareupdatescanbeinstalled.Ifyoudonotwanttoapplythemnow,thenselectSkip.
(Recommended)SelectSearchforUpdates,andthen,select"LocalDirectory"ifyouhavemanuallydownloadedthesoftwareupdatestoanaccessiblelocation.Enterthelocationwheretheupdatesareavailable,andclickSearchforUpdates.
SelectSearchforUpdates,andthen,selectMyOracleSupportifyouwanttheinstallertoconnecttoMyOracleSupportandautomaticallydownloadtheupdatesfromthere.EntertheMyOracleSupportaccountusernameandpassword,andclickSearchforUpdates.
4.EntertheOracleInventoryDetails
ThisscreenwillappearonlyifthisisyourfirsteverinstallationofanOracleproductonthehost.Enterthefullpathtoadirectorywheretheinventoryfilesanddirectoriescanbeplaced.SelecttheappropriateoperatingsystemgroupnamethatwillowntheOracleinventorydirectories.ThisgroupmusthavewritepermissionsontheOracleInventorydirectories.
Note:Thecentralinventorylocationmustnotbeonasharedfilesystem.Ifitisalreadyonasharedfilesystem,thenswitchtoanonsharedfilesystembyfollowingtheinstructionsinMyOracleSupportDocument1092645.1.
5.CheckPrerequisites
-
Checkthestatusofprerequisitechecksrunbytheinstallationwizard,andverifywhetheryourenvironmentmeetsalltheminimumrequirementsforasuccessfulinstallation.ThestatusoftheprerequisitecheckcanbeeitherWarning,FailedorSucceeded.
IfsomechecksresultinWarningorFailedstatus,theninvestigateandcorrecttheproblemsbeforeyouproceedwiththeinstallation.Aftercorrectingtheproblems,clickRerun.
IfyouprefertohidethesuccessfulchecksandviewonlytheWarningorFailedones,thenclickHideSuccessfulChecks.
AlthoughOraclerecommendsyoutoinvestigateandcorrecttheproblems,ifyouarecompelledtoproceedwithoutresolvingthem,thenselectIgnoretoignorethewarningsandfailures.However,allpackagerequirements,HostnamerequirementsandFileDescriptorrequirementsmustbemetbeforeproceedingfurtherotherwisetheinstallationmightfail.
6.SelectInstallationType
SelectCreateaNewEnterpriseManagerSystemandthen,selectSimpleforaSimpleinstallation.Thisoptionisforatypical,defaultconfiguration.Thisissimpleandquick,promptsonlytoenterAdministratorpasswordanddatabaseconnectiondetails.Whilethedatabaseconnectiondetailsareusedforconnectingtoyourexisting,certifiedOracledatabase.TheAdministratorpasswordisusedascommonpasswordforSYSMAN,WebLogicuseraccount,nodemanageruseraccount,andalsoforauthenticatingnewManagementAgentsthatjointheEnterpriseManagersystem.
SelectCreateaNewEnterpriseManagerSystemandthen,selectAdvancedforanAdvancedinstallation.ThisoptionismeantforAdministratorswhowantscustomoradvancedandmoreflexibleconfiguration.ItpromptsyouforWebLogicServerdetails,databaseconnectiondetails,datafilelocationsfortablespaces,passwordforcreatingSYSMANaccountandalsocustomizeports.
ProvideanemptyMiddlewareHomelocationfortheOUItoinstallWeblogicalongwiththeEnterpriseManagerCloudControlinstallation.Ifyoualreadyhavea10.3.5OracleWebLogicServerinstallationwhichyouwanttouseprovidethatlocationastheMiddlewareHomelocation.
7.(Simple)EnterConfigurationDetails

Enteranadministratorpassword,whichcanbeusedasacommonpasswordforSYSMAN,WebLogicuseraccount,nodemanageruseraccountandforauthenticatingnewManagementAgentsthatjointheEnterpriseManagersystem.
Enterthefullyqualifiedhostnamewheretheexistingdatabaseresides,thedatabase'slistenerport,databaseservicenameorSID,andpasswordforSYSuser.
8.(Advanced)SelectPlugins
SelecttheoptionalpluginsyouwanttoinstallfromthesoftwarekitwhileinstallingtheEnterpriseManagersystem.Theabovescreenliststhemandatorypluginsaswellastheoptionalplugins.Thegrayedrowsindicatethemandatorypluginsthatwillbeinstalled.
Duringinstallation,ifyouwanttoinstallapluginthatisnotavailableinthesoftwarekit,thenrefertoAdvancedInstallerOptionswhichdescribeshowyoucaninstalladditionalplugins.
9.(Advanced)WebLogicServerConfigurationDetails

EnterthecredentialsforthewebLogicServeruseraccountandtheNodeManageruseraccount,andvalidatethepathtotheOracleManagementServiceinstancebaselocation.
OMSInstanceBaselocationispopulatedasthegc_instdirectoryundertheprovidedMiddlewareHomelocation.Youcanoptionallyprovideadifferentlocationofyourchoice.ThisdirectoryisusedforstoringallconfigurationdetailsrelatedtoOracleManagementService12c.
10.(Advanced)DatabaseConnectionDetails
Enterthefullyqualifiedhostnamewheretheexistingdatabaseresides,thedatabase'slistenerport,databaseservicenameorSID,andpasswordforSYSuser.
YoumightgetamessagerelatedtoPrerequisitecheckforthebelow:DisableStatsGatheringjobSetjob_queue_processesparameterto200
ClickYestolettheinstallerfixtheissueautomatically.

13.ReviewandInstall

OntheReviewscreen,reviewthedetailsyouprovidedfortheselectedinstallationtype.Ifyouwanttochangethedetails,clickBackrepeatedlyuntilyoureachthescreenwhereyouwanttomakethechanges.Afteryouverifythedetails,andyouaresatisfied,clickInstalltobegintheinstallationprocess.
