Training courses for technicians

The course dates are the following: • 21-22 Feb. 2002: Strength equipment; • 25-28 Feb. 2002: Cardio equipment; • 4-7 March 2002: Cardio equipment; • 11-14 March 2002: Wellness System.

Please note that: • The second “Cardio equipment” course will

be held only if the first one is overbooked. • The courses consist of theoretical and

practical sessions. There will be a final evaluation test.

• Registration is open up to 3 weeks before the start of the course, or until the available places are filled, using the included pre-registration form. Send it via fax to +39-0547-650150 or via e-mail to [email protected] specifying “TECHNICAL TRAINING” in the subject line.

• Registration will be confirmed at least 3 weeks before the start of the course. Only after receiving this confirmation will you be assured that your application has been accepted.

• Those of you who require special documents for obtaining a visa should specify this on the Registration form, and request the necessary documents from the appropriate Technogym International Area Manager. You will be put on a waiting list, and your registration confirmed only upon receiving a photocopy of the visa.

Modification to Selection Leg Extension

Effective starting in the middle of November, a modification has been made to the frame of the Selection Leg Extension machine. As a result of this, only the knee rest has changed. The new one has order code 0I000181-# and can be fitted with a protective cover having order code 0I000193-# . NOTE replace the # with the desired color variant. ATTENTION: the new parts are not

interchangeable with the old versions.

New sticker on Selection machines

The following sticker, with order code 0E000188-ING:

Has been changed as shown.

Cable locking device on Selection Pectoral

To prevent the cable from coming out of the pulley on the top plate, it is possible to install two plates as shown in dark gray in the drawing below.

Their order code is 0D000998. ATTENTION: they can only be installed on machines fitted with the new type component shown in light gray (code 0D000824).

Modification of Selection Leg Press to prevent jamming by

gas damper To prevent the gas damper group from jamming the carriage frame and obstructing its movements, a modification kit has been issued

with order code A0000091. The kit contains:

1. Plate support: code 0D000975; 2. 2 grub screws M5x10: code 0Z689; 3. 2 nuts M5: code 0Z425. The tools required are: • Allen wrench 3 mm • wrench 8 mm Procedure: 1. Insert the support plate A underneath the

seat carriage in the direction indicated by the arrow:

secure the plate in place:


ATTENTION: starting from the machine with SN 01001002, the seat frame has been modified to eliminate the risk of this problem occurring.

Problem with Selection bench wheel caps

On benches P814, P817 and P820, the wheel protection cap shown in the figure may tend to come off.

To correct this, it is necessary to order the complete new part: • right side: code H0000655; • left side: code H0000656.

Solution to seat adjustment problems on P819 incline

bench On certain benches of this type (see figure below)

it may not be possible to select seat positions 8 and 9. This problem may be caused by one of the lower screws securing the backrest (upholstery) of the bench. If the screw is too long, it may interfere with the wheels of the seat carriage, obstructing its complete downward movement. To correct this problem, back off the screw and insert a few shims between the screw and the upholstery until the carriage is able to move freely. ATTENTION: because the components affected by this problem are also used on: • Vertical Traction; • Shoulder Press; • Chest Press; • Chest Incline • Pectoral; • Arm Curl • Arm Extension it is possible that the above machines may also be subject to the same problem.

Caps for Selection benches with weight plate holder

option Caps are now available for closing off the holes used to install the weight plate holder on these types of benches. • Front position:

Use the cap with order code 0K000188. • Rear position:


Use the cap with order code 0K000201

for the slots; Use the cap with order code 0G000070

for the holes between the slots.

Solving noise problem on Glidex XTPRO

On certain Glidex machines, due to the rotation of the tie rod shown in gray in the figure below:

it is possible that the outer part of the ball joint may scrape against the connecting rod or against a washer, producing an unpleasant noise. To correct this problem, modify the tie-rod as shown in the figure below:

near the ball joint; 2. the Derlin washers must be lubricated with

Molikote Long Term W2 grease 3. the screw must be locked with loctite thread

compound. To upgrade an existing machine it is necessary to order the screws and washers. In addition, starting from next February, the assembly consisting of the tie-rod and 2 ball joints will be replaced by a single component identified by order code 0K000147.

Correction to XTPRO line manuals

The manuals in question contain an incorrect indication of the dip-switch settings for the hand sensor interface board in chapter 3. The correct settings are:

New oil sprayer extension tube for Run

To solve the problem of the extension tube coming out of the sprayer due to the excessive pressure produced, there is now a new component available equipped with a larger diameter tube that is more securely fixed to the sprayer. The code is always 0V085 (bottle & distributor).


Technical data for Run tables and tread belts

Annex 1 contains a table showing the dimensions of the tread belts and tables for all the Run machine versions in production.

Fan kit for Runrace To improve the cooling of the motor on the Runrace, there is a modification kit available identified by order code A0000082. ATTENTION: it is recommended to use this kit only in case of frequent overheating of the motor which results in jamming of the inverter with error E12. The kit contains:

1. Power supply cable; 2. Motor fan; 3. Outflow fan. Tools required: 1. Medium Philips screwdriver; 2. 6-mm Allen wrench. Proceed as follows: 1. Installing the power supply cable:

connect the power supply cable in series with the power supply cable of the up-down board as shown in the figure:

2. Installing the motor fan: assemble it on top of the motor using the fixing screws of the terminal-block cover as shown in the figure:

Connect the power supply cable to the blue and brown conductors of the power supply cable in position 1.

3. Installing the outflow fan assemble it

using the hexagonal head screws as shown in the figure.

Connect the power supply cable to the blue and brown conductors of the power supply cable in position 2.

ATTENTION: the fans will run continually when the machine is switched on.

Monitors and Video cards for Rowrace

So many different models of monitors and video cards have been used on the Rowrace that problems may arise if one of the 2 components is replaced. To summarize, we have used the following components:

Connecting the Runrace to a Schiller CS-100 ECG

We have received reports of an error in the documentation of the cable for connecting the Runrace to a Schiller CS-100 ECG. The corrected diagram is shown in Annex 3 . NOTE: Please remember that: • the ECG must be configured to use the

TM400S protocol • on the Runrace, to enable the ECG function

it is necessary to select the "Medical Test" function and then select the "ECG" function.

Interaction of Wellness System with Horizontal

New set-up parameters for Wellness Mate and Power

Control for Selection Annex 4 contains the new set of parameters for Wellness Mate and Power Control for the Selection Line.

New sensor stop for Wellness Mate and Power Control for

Selection To correct the inadequate fixing of the reed relay for additional weight and weight stack on Wellness Mate and Power Control for Selection Line machines, there is now a new component available, illustrated in the figure below:

Its order code is 0K000178. NOTE: Due to its thickness, for the additional weight it must be installed upside down as shown below:

Watch this problem on FPGA boards

If the 4 position dip-switch on the FPGA boards is set to 0000 instead of: • 0001 on Power Control and Wellness Mate; • 0010 on Biostrength. the machine will not show any change in the selected weight, nor will it display the ROM at the beginning of an exercise. This is because, with this configuration, the FPGA board will not signal any changes in the selector pin position to the CPU board. Obviously, to solve the problem it is necessary to correct the dip-switch settings as indicated above.
