गद्ाांश को पढ़कर प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिए –

पहाड़ी गााँवों में अक्सर बाघ का डर बना रहता है। िांगल कटन ेके कारण जशकार की

तलाश में बाघ कभी-कभी गााँव तक पहाँच िाता है। गेंवली गााँव में एक बार यही हआ। एक बाघ

ने गााँव में घुसकर एक गाय को मार डाला। सुबह होत ेही यह खबर परेू गााँव में फैल गई। गााँव के

लोग डरे कक यह बाघ कहीं कफर से आकर दसूरे पालतू िानवरों और ककसी आदमी को ही अपना

जशकार न बना ले। गााँव के लोग गोपाल आश्रम गए और उन लोगों ने मीरा बहन को अपनी

चचांता बताई।

गााँव के लोगों ने अांत में तय ककया कक बाघ को कैद कर जलया िाए। उसे कैद करने के

जलए उन्होंने एक चपांिड़ा बनाया। चपांिड़े के अांदर एक बकरी बााँधी। योिना यह थी कक बकरी का

जमजमयाना सुनकर बाघ चपांिड़ ेकी तरपफ़ आएगा। चपांिड़ ेका दरवािा इस प्रकार खुला हआ

बनाया गया था कक बाघ के अांदर घुसते ही वह दरवािा झटके से बांद हो िाए। शाम होने तक

चपांिड़े को ऐसी िगह पर रख कदया गया िहााँ बाघ अक्सर कदखाई देता था। यह िगह मीरा

बहन के गोपाल आश्रम से ज्यादा दरू नहीं थी। रात बीती। सुबह की रोशनी होते ही लोग चपांिड़ा

देखने जनकल पड़े। उन्होंने दरू से देखा कक चपांिड़े का दरवािा बांद है। व ेयह सोचकर बहत खुश

हए कक बाघ िरूर चपांिड़े में फाँ स गया होगा लेककन िब वे चपांिड़ ेके पास पहाँचे तो क्या देखते हैं

चपांिड़े में बाघ नहीं था!
