Ideas for Defining Research Needs
Provide names of staff that you feel can assist with identifying: Early distress (RED reports) Gaps / weakness in specifications or manuals
(We are planning a survey to identify gaps) Processes or procedures that need change or
modifications New needs, procedures, materials you want to
try Others
Get your staff involved in TOCs 4-5 meetings every year
19
Ways You Can Contribute
Take the survey & identify staff to take it Attend TOC meetings Evaluate proposals Participate in Project Oversight Team
(POTs) Review progress reports in your
expertise Review final reports / presentations Implement, implement, and implement

Web-Based Survey Objectives
User-friendly format Identify potential specification deficiencies
and other research needs. Will help TOCs develop research ideas/RFPs.
