TANET/TWAREN IP Service TANET is the academic network connecting

colleges, high schools and elementary schools in Taiwan.

TWAREN production network provides research backbone connecting among universities, research centers and international I2 partners

The new architecture will provide two virtual networks to meet the basic service.

Conclusions In this new architecture, IP and Optical networ

k are integrated into one. With MPLS+L2 switches in core nodes, multi-

point VLAN service is achieved. MPLS LSPs are configured with fast-reroute o

ption for link protection. For lightpaths among GigaPOP and core node,

the automatic protection are configured. When core node fails, manual re-route of light

path can be done.
