The UCSB McNair Scholars Program is a two-year program designed to encourage talented and eligible undergraduates who are first-generation and low-income students and/or students underrepresented in graduate education to pursue Ph.D. programs. The McNair Scholars Program offers seminars, graduate school preparation, faculty mentored undergraduate research,research, and the opportunity to publish your research in the UCSB McNair Scholars Research Journal.

Benefits to Scholars
• Engage in faculty mentored research for 2 years• Complete research paper• A end weekly seminars• Complete an 8-week summer research program• Presentation of research at national, local and UCSB conferences
Program Requirements
• Interest in obtaining a Ph.D. degree• Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher• Completion of 60 units by the start of the program• US citizen or permanent resident • Low-income and first generation college student
and/or •Student underrepresented in graduate education •Student underrepresented in graduate education
