Office Data

Before configuring service data, you need to set the local office

information, that is to set the properties of the local MSC

Server, including:

office type;

signaling point (SP) code of the local office;

signaling network to which the office belongs;

whether the office is a signaling transfer point (STP);

whether the office supports signaling connection control

part (SCCP)

Page 7: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

SS7 Network Identifier

Network identifier:

Four types of SS7 signaling network identifier: international

network, international reserved network, national network, national

reserved network

− MSOFTX3000 supports that the local office exists in four

networks at the same time, but usually no more than two.

Before configuration confirm which network SS7 signaling network

belongs to.

Page 8: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

Signaling Point Code

SPC uniquely identifies a node in the signaling network.

The length of SPC in international reserved network and national

network in China is 24 bits.

The length of SPC in international network and national reserved

network is 14 bits.

SP in two networks at the same time has two SPCs.

MSC Number and VLR Number

Currently, MSC and VLR are configured together in the network.

Therefore, MSC number is the same as VLR number.

MSC/VLR number adopts E.164 coding mode, and the coding

format is:

CC+NDC+LSP

In this format, CC is country code and NDC is national

destination code, and LSP is the number used in SS7 signaling

messages to stand for MSC.

Page 10: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 10All rights reserved

MSRN and HON

MSRN is used to route the call to the MSC which MS is currently locat

ed. HON is used by the MSC-A to set up a connection to the MSC-B.

So, MSRN/HON is a temporary number.

The format of MSRN/HON adopts E.164 coding mode, and the coding

format is:

CC+NDC+ individual number.

Usually, the format of MSRN/HON is based on MSC number and

another several digits are added.

Local Office Data Configuration

Adding local office information

Command: SET OFI/ADD OFI

−MSOFTX3000 support 16 local office information tables( number

ed 0~ 15).

−The local office data index added for the first time is "0". SET OF

I is used for the first time to add local office data.

−Currently, MSOFTX3000 supports multi-SP configuration at the l

ocal office, so we could use the command ADD OFI to add SPs t

o break the number limitation of 16 signaling links.

Page 19: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

Local Office Data Configuration

Setting local mobile network information

Command: SET INOFFMSC/ADD INOFFMSC

− One MSOFTX3000 can be configured with 16 MSCs in

maximum, and each MSC has its own local office

information.

− Use the command SET INOFFMSC to configure the first

MSC and ADD INOFFMSC to configure the other MSCs.

Page 20: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 20All rights reserved

Local Office Data Configuration

Adding local VLR information

Command: ADD VLRCFG

− Maximum number of users is used to set the maximum

user number allowed by each VLR module.

− MSRN release timeout refers to the roaming number

auto-release time.

− Roaming number can be allocated according to MSC

number, LAI number, or randomly.

Page 21: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 21All rights reserved

Local Office Data Configuration

Adding MAP information

Command: ADD MAPACCFG

− ODB_SS is operator determined barring supplementary

services.

− Prepaging means that VLR starts paging immediately after

receiving the message PRN, and then it returns “PRN_ACK”

to HLR after receiving “PAGING RESPONSE”.

Page 22: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 22All rights reserved

Local Office Data Configuration

Adding Local SCCP Subsystem

Command: ADD SCCPSSN

− SCCP manages the users of OMAP, MAP, HLR, VLR and such

users through TCAP, all these users are called SCCP subsystem.

− Adding SCCPSSN increases the users of MTP messages,

enlarges the addressing area.

− When MSOFTX3000 functions as a visited MSC, configure the

local MSC, VLR and SCMG subsystem.

− When MSOFTX3000 functions as a gateway mobile switching

center (GMSC), configure the local MSC and SCMG subsystems.

Page 23: 05 MSOFTX3000 Local Office Data Configuration ISSUE 1.2

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Page 23All rights reserved

Local Office Data Configuration

Adding local GT information

Command: ADD SCCPGT

− GT is short for global title, and is used globally. It implements the

circuit independent message transmission between random SP.

− Adding SCCPGT is used to address globally through GT

information.

− Set [Translation type] as default value “00” for the mobile network

and set [GT indicator] as GT4.

− For the local user of SCCP, set [Translation result type] as “SPC”.

MSRN/HON Allocation Mode Configuration

MSOFTX3000 can flexibly implement the following MSRN/HON

allocation modes:

Allocating MSRN/HON based on LAI number

Allocating MSRN/HON based on MSC number

Allocating MSRN/HON randomly

MSRN/HON allocation mode configuration comprises prefix
