    1. GENERAL

    1.1 Scope

    -e Code is intended to give guidelines !or engineering practice and sa!e procedures !or variousdemolition met-ods !or buildings !ive storey and above and to provide guidance on t-ecompliance ,it- re'uirements o! t-e relevant acts and regulations. &spects related toenvironmental) occupational sa!ety and -ealt- s-ould be re!erenced to ot-er relevantre'uirements and regulations.

    2. PLANNING

    2.1 B#i$%ing App&ai!a$ an% De'o$iion P$an

    Prior to carrying out any building demolition) detailed building appraisal by means o! surveys andappropriate assessments s-all be re'uired. 6n general) t-e surveys s-all include a BuildingSurvey) a Structural Survey and a Dilapidation Survey ,it- p-otograp-s or videos ta+en !or !uturere!erence. Based on t-e !indings o! t-ese surveys) a demolition plan s-all t-en be prepared andsubmitted to t-e 0ocal &ut-orities. -e demolition plan must also be accompanied by a reporttoget-er ,it- structural calculations assessing t-e stability o! t-e building to be demolis-ed andall a!!ected buildings) structures) streets) land and services.
