In July 2012, Momba (http://momba.me) conducted a survey among roughly 2300 college students and recent graduates from over 384 schools. Among other findings, the survey discovered that 91% of college students need essential dorm items after nearby stores have closed. And, if given the option, more students would prefer to use a vending machine than go to a convenience store. Why? The biggest reason is inconvenience, followed by a busy schedule, procrastination and - last but not least - personal safety.
