• Uses pressure difference between atmosphere and vacuum in the tank.
• The vacuum pump is activated by the loss of vacuum in the vacuum tank (increase of pressure in the tank).
• Each toilet base has an integrated funnel with a one inch orifice; incoming air fragments the waste as it passes through the base opening.
• Vacuum is maintained at all times. The “leak-down” time period should be approximately eight hours. (The pump should not come on within a three hour window of non-use.)
• Recharging vacuum takes less than a minute. Vacuum pump shuts off at 10”Hg and turns on at 8”Hg.

The Vacuum Toilet Alternative.
Vacuum toilets transport waste with a high velocity burst of air pressure,
greatly reducing water used per flush.
Instead of filling the tank with flushing water, it is filled with more flushes.
Typical Marine Toilet uses 0.9 Gallons per Flush.

5000 and 4800 series toilets use a check valve in the water supply line without an air gap. This is typical of European manufacturers of macerator toilets. Using a
check valve allows us to provide a large seat in the same space as compact competitive models.
Most VacuFlush toilets are equipped with an integral anti-siphon, atmospheric vacuum breaker – except the 5000 and 4800 series.

CONTROLS CIRCUIT BOARD FUNCTIONSFIELD REPLACEMENTS
– +DC voltage (5V) from main control boards is required to operate backlighting and service switch toggle. This is not available with existing Macerator and Vacuflush control boards at this time, and will require slight circuitry modifications for future production.
– Will have one 2-circuit DIP switch on back of board.• Circuit #1 will be used for all new units shipped after June 1, 2012.• Circuit #2 will be used for units prior to June 1, 2012, for field replacements.
– Macerator control boards:• Will not have backlighting if a new wall control panel is used on an old control board.• Must either disconnect Ethernet connector pin 4 via DIP switch on new wall control
panel or provide new macerator control board in order to avoid conflict with unused dry-flush input on existing macerator control boards.
– Vacuflush control boards:• Will not have backlighting if a new wall control panel is used with an old Vacuflush
control board.• Will not have a functional service switch if a new wall control panel is used with an old
Vacuflush control board. (Could still use service switch behind seat. If we are not going to require main control boards be replaced, then we could just supply macerator version of new wall panel that does not have the service switch.)
• Must either disconnect pin 4 via DIP switch on new wall control panel or provide new Vacuflush control board in order to avoid conflict with unused dry-flush input on existing Vacuflush control boards.

Reads 10-hour leak rate in 15 minutes!
Use SeaLand’s Digital Vacuum Gauge (P/N 318530003) to confirm the system leak rate and find the leak.
1. Be sure that water has circulated through the system and the duckbill valves are wet. Turn off water to toilet.
2. Follow the instructions included with the vacuum gauge to determine the leak rate.
