– Turkey has seen a significant decrease in hotel occupancy rates in Europe, excluding Russia, according to STR Global’s June figures. The datas which is given by statistical affairs show that Turkey has more than 4.26 million Russians in 2014, which is over 10 percent of the 37 million tourists.

– In recent years tourism sector in Turkey has been suffering a sharp drop in the number of tourist visiting Turkey and also Antalya. Meanwhile with the result of this issue, this drop have leaded an oversupply problem in rooms which forces the hotels to slash room prices after years of rapid expansion.

– The highest hotel occupancy rates were seen in Malta, Czech Republic, Britain according to the STR Global data by the way Turkey were at 68.9 percent occupancy rate which was quite low comparing to other countries above.

– Turkey is currently having a shortfall of about 4.5 million Russian tourists this year, this causes Turkey's tourism industry to decrease in revenue by $4.5 billion, according to Aegean Touristic Enterprises and Lodging Association (ETHICS).

– Antralya which is the southwestern coastal city of Turkey entertained 12.6 percent fewer tourists in the beginning of 2015 according to data announced by Association of Mediterranean Tourism and Hoteliers in Turkey. The number of

With the result of increasing capacity of hotels around Turkey and Antalya in recent years causing the sector to now face an oversupply in rooms, which is pushing many hotels to make some discount in room prices.

–We can also note that the country was lagging behind in income earned per tourist, despite Turkey being the sixth most visited country in the world.

– As a result of shutting down the Russian Su-24 incident causing hotel owners to sell their property and real estate. After this events Russian government has imposed anti-Turkish economic measures, which included a ban on the sale of Turkish tour-packages.

– Turkish tourism sector is severely damaged by PKK terrorism Especially the recent months there is a war between Republic of Turkey and PKK(Kurdish worker party). Turkey has also some problems with ISIS terrorist groups.

– This illegal group attacked by blowing themselves up in Ankara, Sultanahmet square and Taksim which has increased the security concerns of the other countries. All these dilemmas causes sharply drop in confidence of potential incoming tourist groups.

–4-RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS BASED ON OUR KNOWLEDGE

– Alkaya said Turkey’s tourism sector now needs comprehensive publicity campaigns, especially in Europe, to recover its image problems.

– The first issue is the accupancy rate of hotels

– Service ability and forecasting system

– The secand one has close relations with the issue of accupancy rate. In this case the secand one is sharp decreasing in number of tourists

– the responsible officers and tourism agencies must always seek to expanding policy to obtain new incoming tourist from different countries

– The third one is the problem of expenditure for each tourist visiting Turkey and Antalya.

– travel organizations should offer more activities to get them outside of the city to make them increase their spending.

– The last one that we have accepted as the most serious problem in Turkey is the security problem

– Policy of zero problem with neigbors has be applied as soon as possible.
