What is QIT?

• QIT includes data from 13 different health surveys (most from 1990 or later)

• QIT includes data from both national and state surveys

• QIT includes data collected from both youth and adults

TM

How can QIT be used?

• QIT can be used to locate survey questions and their response formats

• QIT can be used to locate data and documentation for secondary data analyses

• QIT can be used to gather ideas for future survey development

TM

Demonstration Objectives

1) A simple search by category and keyword

2) A guided search through

– A selection of category and keywords

— A selection of scope and population

— A selection of survey and selected year

3) A review of QIT’s key features

Now we can Select a Scope and Population

Let’s choose to look at All Surveys

Now these are the Options available for Population

This will change the options available for Population

TM

Let's choose to look at state surveys of adults only

TM

Now there are only 9 Results…Let’s further refine the search.

TM

Again, we’ll Add More Criteria.

• Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

• Browser Requirements

TM

What the QIT database cannot do....

• QIT cannot be used as a survey creation tool, although questions from QIT can be used to gather ideas for future questionnaire development

• Provide you with sources for public use data for every survey and year for which questions are available, particularly state surveys and questions from older surveys

• Provide the logic, thought, and effort that are needed to create an effective written, CATI, or CAPI survey instrument complete with skip patterns, for example.
