Brief Comments

It is my opinion that we are Teacher Librarians and that we should be held to some of the same standards Teachers are

The WSE is not a pass/fail assessment

It is a benchmarking exercise which should lead you to improved policies, procedures and practices

It is a valuable opportunity to show the integration of the school Library into the curriculum and shoulddemonstrate cross-curricular links

It has taken years to write/assemble the documents that follow

There is no ‘standard’ WSE Library folder. Each is unique to its own school.

Each document should be dated and have a review date

Policies and Procedures

The WSE folder P&P section should contain:

The School’s Statement of Philosophy and Objectives

The Library’s Statement of Philosophy, Aims and Objectives

The Library’s Statement on Intellectual Freedom and Censorship and Library Selection Policy

The Library’s Circulation Policy

Kindle Usage Policy

The Library’s Data Protection Policy

Other Library policies???

• Show how busy you are• Show which classes/teachers are
