PLANNING FOR 2019The placing of children into their new classes each year is a complex process. At
Forestville PS we generally form parallel class groups ie, they are not graded
academically, but balanced to reflect the full range of students in our school.
The current classroom teachers know the children best in the classroom context, and
they, as a professional group, take a great deal of care and discussion to ensure each
child is well placed for the following year. The following factors are taken into account
when making these decisions.
Thank you for your support.
Louisa Wellings (Relieving Principal)
From the Office
Term 4 accounts were emailed three weeks ago and prompt payment is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to the families who have settled their final accounts for this year.
Please ensure when returning notes and payments that you have included your child’s
name and class.
PHOTOS - Sport and Extra-Curricular
The deadline to order your Sport and Extra-Curricular photos online has been extended to
Sunday, 18 November.
LOST PROPERTY
We have had a SILVER RAZOR SCOOTER here at the office all year which has not been claimed. If
you think this is yours then please come and see us ASAP, as we will be donating it to Vinnies
soon. There are quite a few pairs of glasses, watches and other miscellaneous goods which are
here in the office as well. If you are missing anything valuable, please come and see us to check.

Behavioural needs; application to learning
Friendship groups are also considered, but not a priority. As many parents
would be aware, friendships are changeable, and in many cases children learn
better without the distraction of their ‘best friends’ in the same class.
If you consider there are ‘exceptional circumstances’ that warrant a placement
request, please fill in the attached form and return to me. It will then be
considered by the Learning Support Team in consultation with the classroom
teacher’s recommendations.

Because of the complex nature of the process as outlined above, the class
allocations in the new school year will be final. I envisage that no changes will
be made after class allocations are announced in the first week of the 2019
school year.

FORESTVILLE MORNING
SWIM SQUADS
Does your child want to improve their
stroke/Swim endurance? Then consider
joining the Forestville School Swim
squads - run by Carlisle Swim School and
coordinated by School parents. It runs for
8 weeks on Tuesday and/or Thursday
mornings 7.30-8.30am and costs $10.25 a
session ($82 a term for one morning a
week).
Money to be collected by Cass Lugg
(Freya Lugg in 5A), and Jules Ireland
(cheques to be made payable to ‘Killarney
Swim school’).
Preferably kids should be at
Superfish/shark level.
If you have any questions please drop an
email to Cass at
kev_cass@bigfoot.com.au.
