Surrealism creates art in which the impossible becomes “real” through a disparity (difference) of what we see and what we know about reality!

In addition to disparities in reality, Surrealist often took inspiration from dreams.

They were interested in exploring the subconscious, and for this reason they worked closely with Sigmund Freud (the father of modern psychology).
