THE SELF-ADVOCACY LEADERSHIP SERIES: STUDENTS IN TRANSITION SERIES
The Self-Advocacy Leadership Series (SALS) is
an 8-10 week course that teaches transition
age students with disabilities attending high
school the core principles of self-advocacy
and leadership. The curriculum is taught us-
ing a mix of role play, team activities, lecture,
and audio/video presentations to help meet
the learning styles of all class participants. All
classes have taken place on a college or uni-
versity campus. Class locations have included
Bridgewater State University, University
of Massachusetts, Holyoke Community
College and Westfield State University.
