It was lovely to see Alan Dungey at our meeting again last Monday night. It is always good to welcome back past members when they are in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
Monday night should see the welcome return of Cherie who has been away for a few weeks. Cherie has been over East for a school reunion and then has undergone some surgery. Welcome back Cherie we have missed you (and the Bulletin). We are looking forward to this week's edition with all the photos that have been taken over the past few weeks.
I was just about holding my breath Monday night as we looked like we were going to have close to 100% attendance. Just reminding everyone if we do have 100% attendance I will buy you all a drink!
To date we have raised $760.60 towards a Shelterbox. A fantastic effort. Thank you to the members who have assisted when we have been collecting. We will keep collecting and when we reach the magic $1000 we will purchase another box.
We were handed $221.25 being the total raised from the Council free dress days in February, March and April. This
brings the total raised for End Polio Now to $1557.75. This was from the movie night, donations, Rydges and City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Social Club. A fantastic effort.
We have a whole heap of activities coming up
Battle of the Brains Quiz Night on Friday 5 June. Posters are getting put up around town, tickets are on sale, Lin has put together an event on Facebook. Now all we need to do is contact potential sponsors and talk to friends, work colleagues, neighbours, family about making up a table on the night. Thankyou to Debra, Narelle and Lin for helping to prepare the envelopes for the Raffle on Tuesday night.
Saturday 6 June is our night out at the Basketball. The cost is around $20 for the meal and basketball entry. Buy your drinks on the night.
Saturday 6 June CREATE Foundation. Sausage Sizzle Please note the change of date. 5-6pm We are providing the sausage sizzle as a donation. Helpers are needed for this activity.
Busy Bee Saturday 13 June Cruickshank Sports Arena. We

Following the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal last Saturday our thoughts are with our local Nepalese partners, colleagues and all of those affected by the tragedy, including those in Australia.
We were relieved to hear from Nepalese surgeon and one of our key local partners, Dr Shankar Rai, that he and his team were not harmed in the earthquake, and that both of the hospitals that they work in are not damaged. However, they have reported that they are overwhelmed with huge numbers of trauma patients from the earthquake.
We have extended the offer of Interplast's assistance to them directly, and to other local and international partners. Over coming weeks and months as the immediate humanitarian response transitions into recovery, there will be ongoing need for support in reconstructive surgery. Interplast is ready to help where our local partners request us to.
Interplast has been working in Nepal since 2006 with a comprehensive training program that includes Nepalese surgeons, nurses and allied health professionals. Our aim is to improve access to quality reconstructive surgery and follow-up rehabilitative services by providing programs focused on building the capacity of local health care providers.

Quote of the Week
“Our success or failure will not depend
upon the machinery of Rotary or its
physical growth, but upon the extent to
which Rotary’s ideals or objectives are
translated into positive, tangible
results in personal, business,
community, and international life. We
shall be known by our work .”
