• Create a personal database online – Store an unlimited number of records– Access from any computer linked to the

Internet. – No downloading software or installation

required.

• Import references automatically from multiple databases

• Organize & manage references – Sort file, and find references quickly

• Share references – Easy collaboration with other researchers

• Format bibliographies and manuscripts in seconds

UofC Users: Group Code

• Go to: refworks.ucalgary.ca • Click link to “Get the Group Code”• Login with your IT Username and password• Once group code is retrieved, click “Login to

Refworks”

Create an Account• Go to red login box on left-hand

side – NOT the yellow box in the middle of the screen

• Click Sign up for an Individual Account

• Create a unique username and password (does not have to be associated with your UofC IT account)

Direct Export: Online Data Vendors

instructions for a specific vendor.

Direct Export from Google Scholar

• Make sure cookies are enabled to allow setting of preferences in Google Scholar

• From the Google Scholar search screen click on Scholar Preferences.

• At the bottom of the screen, in the Bibliography Manager area, select Reforks in the pull-down menu

• Save your preference.• Search results will now display an “Export to

RefWorks link”

Importing References: Direct Export from EBSCOHost

• After selecting the EBSCO database(s) you wish to search, conduct a search.

• Select several records to import by clicking on the “Add To Folder” link on the bottom of the records you wish to add.

• Click on the “Folder,” which is located either at the very top of the screen or on the right-hand side.

• Click on Export (white paper with green arrow).• Select Direct Export to RefWorks.• Click the Save button.• Your records should be imported into your Last

Imported Folder in RefWorks.

Importing from: ProQuest

1.After selecting the ProQuest database(s) you wish to search, conduct a search.

2.Select records to import by clicking on the empty box next to citation

3.Click on “Export” at the top of the search results.

4.Select Export Directly to Refworks.5.Once logged in, your records will be imported

into your Last Imported Folder in RefWorks.
