MAIN SUMMARY OF ROLE:
Lead and develop the team responsible for engagement, increasing the awareness of the RAFBF, achieving financial targets and for establishing capacity for future income growth within the Central Region.
Overall responsibility for achieving the region’s annual income target within associated expenditure budgets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Development, Reporting and Performance)
1. Lead the Regional Team to develop, plan and achieve the annual regional business plan with due regard to the national framework and budgets.
2. Enhance the profile of the RAFBF within the Region, engaging with RAF station personnel, the wider RAF Family and corporate supporters.
3. Provide clear direction, motivating, empowering and developing team members to achieve their targets.
4. In line with operational requirements, and with the Head of Regions, Corporate and Community Fundraising, develop annual budgets for the region. Manage these budgets and report on these monthly, identify performance issues and provide latest estimates for income and expenditure.
5. Take responsibility for developing profitable fundraising activities in the region, exploiting national fundraising initiatives and working with the HO corporate team to develop profitable relationships with corporate partners.
6. On a case by case basis, manage assistance to the HQ Welfare team within the region (liaison with beneficiaries and education of the RAF/other service charities regarding RAFBF welfare work).
7. Identify viable new business opportunities within the region, driving and monitoring performance against financial and other targets.
8. Encourage support for and understanding of the RAFBF’s work amongst target audiences
within the region, identified in accordance with national policy (currently RAF/RAuxAF, ex-RAF, ACO, UAS and communities local to RAF Stations)
9. Ensure all activities within the region (including those of volunteers) adhere to statutory regulations and with fundraising governing bodies best practice guidelines.

QUALIFICATION(S), KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE
Academic/Professional Qualification(s) or equivalent:
Essential• Educated to degree level or equivalent
Desirable• Member of Institute of Fundraising • Institute of Fundraising Diploma in Fundraising
Knowledge and Experience
Essential• Knowledge of the RAF, the RAF Family and our sister Services• Experience of leading, managing and motivating teams • Experience of managing budgets.• IT literate (Microsoft packages)• Experience of managing budgets of £300K or over
Desirable• Command Experience Professional fundraising or marketing experience within the third sector• Experience of income generation
• Experience in managing successful profile or fundraising events Knowledge of customer relationship management databases
