Apply an undercoat tothe pumpkin preferablyusing an emulsion typepaint.

When painted fill any areas that are not smooth then sand, seal and paint.

Apply a coat of Acrylicpaint to give solid satinfinish.

Gently sand the grooves to smooth them using acourse sand paper.

Seal the pumpkin usingwatered down PVA orRosco foam coat.

When dry, sand thesurface to smooth out the larger imperfections.

Glue the two halves of the sphere using UHUPor Styrofoam adhesive.

Draw on the segments of the pumpkin, dividing inhalf, then quarters, theneighths, then sixteenths.

Flatten the sphere onthe top by applying gentle pressure.

Using a craft knife cutgrooves into the pumpkin following the drawn lines.

Using the acrylic orangedarkened with a small amount of black paint to use as shading in the grooves.
