More than ever, today’s business opportunities call for well-trained, innovative individuals with an international focus.
But what are the keys to success in the modern corporate environ-ment of rapid change and increasingly global competition ? Will the skills and perspectives learned today still be relevant to the business world of tomorrow ? How can a student best prepare for the multiple challenges of doing business in the twenty-fi rst cen-tury ? Since 1982 the MBA Institute has been answering these questions in bold and effective new ways. Founded by IPESUP, France’s leading educational program for pre-business school stu-dents, and INSEEC, one of the most important French Business Schools, the MBA Institute offers a cutting-edge undergraduate management program emphasizing cultural awareness, leadership skills and technical expertise.

Une américaine à Paris
Over my four months at the MBA Institute, I met and became great friends with dozens of French, German, Austrian, Chinese, Venezuelan, Colombian, Mexican and Peruvian students! Unlike other schools, the MBA Institute mixes students together, allowing everyone to meet other people from around the world. I’ve made friends who have planned trips to come visit me at school in the U.S, and I also have friends from the program who are now studying abroad at my university, Tulane.
Our program coordinator, Stephen Muse, went above and beyond all of our expectations to make us feel at home and safe while in Paris. Stephen planned lots of cultural events throughout the semester, introducing us to Parisian culture and traditions. From a trip to Versailles to the Perfume Museum, the cultural events always brought everyone together for an enter-taining and educational experi-ence! I was very pleased and excited to have had someone who cared about our happiness as much as Stephen did.
The experiences that I have had with the MBA Institute have been nothing but wonderful and wel-coming, and the staff is incredi-bly accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend its Study Abroad Program to any student looking for an enjoyable and edu-cational semester in Paris.
London, like New York, is a city which never sleeps and exudes an atmosphere which pleases people from all ages and walks of life. London is fast-becoming a renowned international capital of fashion, architecture, finance and technology. Attractions such as the London eye per-fectly illustrate the truly visionary spirit which is running through its veins. London is also an incredible melting-pot of cultures and identities living harmoniously together and offering unequalled culinary variety.
London is a prestigious city: modern, proposing a plethora of world-renowned entertainment, hotels, museums and public parks. It is practically impossible for a student to not be seduced by the squares and gardens of Kensington and Mayfair, the buskers of Covent Garden and the unique bohemian atmosphere of Portobello Road.
The INSEEC Group has recently opened a new campus between Regent’s Park and Oxford Street. The site is per-fectly situated and offers an ideal environment in which to study and benefit from all that London has to offer.

INTERVIEW LI MengranMy name is LI Mengran, I’m from Beijing (China). Now I am studying a specialized Master at INSEEC in Paris, my major is EMBA, Human Ressources. Before being accepted for the Euro MBA pro-gram at Inseec, I completed a three-year European Bachelor at the Paris International Business School (PIBS).
I found my courses were well-structured and clearly explained. Classes’ were mostly taught in English although it was possible to have certain key courses in French as well. My progress in essay-writ-ing and analysis has stood me in good stead for my Inseec Masters program and I am really enjoy-ing studying Human Resource Management.
The PIBS system encourages you to study subjects in great depth, allowing you to focus on the sub-jects you really like or do well at. It’s a flexible system, and you feel that you have made a more per-sonal choice. In the Euro MBA, the course are well designed with rele-vant course modules and informa-tion but the best and most impor-tant part will be the internship.
Studying at INSEEC has been a truly invaluable learning experi-ence for me (both the Bachelor and the Masters Program). I have learnt so much from all the constructive input and guidance throughout each lesson of the course. It has helped me to understand where my strengths and weaker aspects lie. I am extremely satisfied with my experience,
I just want to say thank you.

Paris like museums, theaters, etc… I always do my best to keep costs low and arrange for discounts for the international students. We also watch French movies and organize big events every year like the Thanksgiving party.
How long have you been doing this job and what place does MBA Institute have in your life now?
I have been doing this for 8 years. MBA Institute is like a “Central Park” for me now. I really think that MBA Institute students are top students!
What benefits do you feel you get from this job?
I love Paris, and it is the perfect opportunity for me to share my appreciation of this city with my students.
How do you manage to create a bridge between all the different cultures? Have you got a particu-lar way of doing it?
I use my own “survival” experi-ence to help people who arrive in Paris; it is the best map for help-ing them to have the experience of a lifetime.
According to me, to arrive in and survive in Paris, one has to have the skill of an entrepreneur; that is to say, to have the courage to go to different places and get things done.
I want to stress the impor-tance of the PEA [Projet Extra-Académique; Extra-Academic Project] Study Abroad which has been phenomenal for the last 4 years. The PEA has done every-thing to welcome the Americans;

What is your background?
I am from Boston, but I am Irish-American. I studied at George-town University (Washington, DC) and I have an MBA from Suffolk University.
What is your role? How do you work with the international stu-dents?
I am the coordinator of the exchange program for MBA Institute, so I help all the inter-national students who plan to spend a semester in Paris to inte-grate into the school.
I give cultural classes in the form of outings: we visit key places in
a sort of island has been created which gathers the international students and the French students from the PEA.
What could be done to improve the reception of the interna-tional students?
The success of the PEA is one thing that must be mentioned. Before the PEA was created, the Americans would not be inte-grated with the French until mid-term period.
But it would be even better if the international students could attend all the French classes so that they could get to know all the French students and build an even bigger network.
This extension, in addition to even more participation from the 1st and 2nd year students, could be a real guarantee that the interna-tional students are perfectly inte-grated among MBA Institute stu-dents.
I use my own experience to help international students; it is the best map for helping them to
have the experience of a lifetime.

BAC+5: New AACSB-accredited MBA & Masters ProgramsThe MBA Institute has signed or is in the pro-cess of signing several new joint MBA or Masters par-tnership agreements with the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (MBA), San Diego State University (MBA), Texas A&M (Mas-ters Marketing), UMASS Boston (MBA) and Northern Arizona University(MBA). These agreements have been made possible thanks to the quality of our alumni and their success in being accepted to world-class MBA programs throughout the world.
The agreement includes guaranteed places if the minimum TOEFL, GMAT and GPA scores are obtai-ned (these vary depending on the University). On top of this, several of the Uni-versities propose ‘In-State’ or reduced fees which ena-ble our students to obtain a globally accredited diploma at a very competitive price. The MBA Institute is cur-rently negotiating several other agreements with Uni-versities such as Purdue, Lafayette, Florida Internatio-nal in Miami, University of Tampa and Binghamton in New York. Exciting times…

INTERVIEW Vérane GrangePromo 2001, Assistant Manager L’Oréal New York
J’envisage mon avenir à « l’in-ternational »…
Anne-Lise FlaisPromo 2006, Business Analyst BNP Paribas Londres

INTERVIEW Philippe Mihailovich
Philippe Mihailovich, who was born in South Africa and has worked in London, New York and Paris, is considered as a lead-ing academic in the field of Brand Management and a founding the-orist of Brand Architecture and Brand Stretching. As a practitioner he has been the Marketing head of famous international brands such as Nivea, Wella (P&G) and British Telecom and as a consultant has assisted in the creation or repo-sitioning of numerous challenger brands from private label to high end luxury houses, airlines and hotels. He has recently completed a book on high luxury brands that is due for release this year.
“With the advent of the credit crunch, branding has become more important than ever. Weak brands are being forced to fight on low prices to survive while the stronger brands are adding value to their brand stories to ensure that they meet the stringent demands of an emerging connoisseur customer. As a result, innovative Brand managers are more sought after than ever, because it is their direct success that can lead to the creation of more wealth and more jobs in the organisation. The brand management courses offered also provide the tools for students to employ themselves as entrepreneurs and many are doing just that.”

INTERVIEWRobert Bradford
Robert Bradford has been on the faculty of the MBA Institute since September 2000. As a direct descendant of William Bradford, one of the Pilgrim Fathers, he is proud of his American heritage and enjoys bringing that knowl-edge to his classes in American Business Culture. He also teaches Use of English, Communication Skills and has recently expanded his Public Speaking course to the third and fourth year students.
In addition to his teaching duties, Robert Bradford also works as a freelance communications con-sultant. He has coached numer-ous managers and directors at French companies such as Chanel, Sanofi-Aventis and Renault to improve their ability to use English in international meetings, negoti-ations and presentations. Before moving to France, Robert worked in the entertainment business in Los Angeles as both a Dialogue Coach and Script Analyst for such corporations as Walt Disney and Paramount. In fact, an early interest in the dramatic arts has never completely diminished and Robert continues to be involved to this day in theatre, voiceover work and film acting (most recently in Arthur and the Minimoys by Luc Besson.)
Robert, who received his degree in Broadcast Communication Arts and English from San Francisco State University, truly enjoys working with the students of the MBA Institute and helping them to become better, more confident communicators in preparation for their study and/or work abroad.

INTERVIEWEric ScaramozzinoPromo 2008

INTERVIEWLu JiMy name is LU Ji.
I’m from Nanjing China. I’m 27 years old. Right now I’m studying in INSEEC Business School in Paris. My major is EMBA-HR. Before EMBA, I completed the European Bachelor program. In the Bachelor in Business Administration, I learned so much and felt so good at there. I spend a very good time in my BBA.
In China, I was an environmental designer and found the European Bachelor program very help-ful for me in order to get some basic knowledge in Business Administration. I have learnt so much already here, have been exposed to a whole new way of thinking and, as a result, am a more fulfilled person. I really think that doing the PIBS program was a very good ladder before going to the Euro MBA.
In the Euro MBA, I have found peo-ple from different backgrounds and that creates a unique environ-ment at INSEEC. I have found all the members of staff friendly and approachable as well.
This degree offers something very unique. It provides a place where you can learn and do an intern-ship.
At INSEEC (BBA and Master), the instructors are very knowl-edgeable about their subjects. Plus, they have real world experi-ence to go with it to back up their teaching. The way the course was conducted by the professors was really motivating and made the dialogue and exchanges between us more productive and of mutual interest.
I really liked the atmosphere and I keep an excellent memory of these years passed at INSEEC!
Thanks again for an enjoyable learning experience.
