Scooter maven Joel Martin hit the Lone s-tar state in style starting

with Scoot2Texas with KymcoMay 23-28. The assembledjournalists took to the streetsof San Antonio testing theDowntown 300i and the Xciting500cc. In addition to the presspack, everyone from the presi-dent to the logistics managerwas there showing that theKymco team not only sellsscooters, but they ride them aswell.

Next, Martin scooted across town toAmerivespa, which was also held in SanAntonio, May 27-31. The event, which at-tracted more than 450 scooterists, hasgrown from its vintage-only roots to be-come the largest scooter event in the U.S.

“It’s the most inclusive event I’ve ex-perienced with riders of all back-grounds, ethnic groups, nationalitiesand worldwide appeal,” says Martin. “Imet riders that flew in from as faraway as Germany and Japan to attendthe event.”

The event garnered serious industrysupport with the likes of Kymco, SYM -Carter, Peirspeed, Genuine and more onhand.

“In my opinion, this was a better eventfor any scooter company to attend than eventhe Dealer Expo since it gives store owners, consumers and industry experts a chance tointeract and talk in a stress-free environ-ment,” says Martin. “Many new stores

brought employeesso they could con-nect with the sceneand understandtheir customerbase, which I foundto be interesting. From newbies ontheir first scootersto people that havetrekked acrossAmerica, therewas something

for everyone.”If you cater to
