This is the story of men and women, ordinary people who had a plan, strongly believed in it... and made it happen.

Skill and strong resolve: this is what led the three Totaro brothers to found MAFRAT, a top-quality knitwear manufacturing company. It was 1945.

By the beginning of the 50s, MAFRAT was already a leader on the Italian market of knitwear.In the 60s, the Company raises its sights: production is diversified and total look for kids is introduced. Things start to go full steam ahead: national borders are crossed and the company sets out to conquer the European and overseas markets.

The second generation of the Totaro family pursues the founders’ ambitions with a tenacious, passionate heart: a dream comes true in 1976, when Mafrat becomes a corporation.

In 2002, Mafrat takes a first, tentative step in the market of royalties: important deals are made with prestigious brands in the world of man’s and woman’s fashion.

The second and third generations of the family are now at the top of the company, leading a team of 150 employees and over 2000 freelancers.
