Lesson 5

Obligatory, voluntary & disliked elements of prayer

Pg. no. 58

Pg. no. 60

Obligatory acts of prayer as mentioned in the hadith:

Takbir ul Ihram Standing up to recite Surat ul Fatihah Bowing Raising head from bowing Two Prostrations Sitting between prostrations Remaining in every state until one feels at rest

Pg. no. 61

I cooperate and categorize:

Obligatory sayings ofprayer

Obligatory acts of prayer

His prayer is invalid as he left a pillar (prostration) of salah.

He must redo his prayer as he left a pillar of salah which can not be compensated with sujood of forgetfulness.

Takbeerul Ihram Bowing

Al Fatihah Standing up to recite Surat ul Fatihah

Assalamu Alaikum Wa rahmatullah.

Tasleem

Subhana rabbiyal ala 3 times in each sajdah

2 prostrations

Subhana rabbiyal atheem 3 times inrukoo

Sitting between 2prostrations

I discuss and assess:

Ans: His prayer is nullified & he must repeat his salah as he has omitted obligatory acts of salah which are raising up after Rukoo & feeling at rest in each step.

Pg. no. 62

I read & infer:

One volunteer element of the prayer from the above hadith.

Ans: Reciting one more surah along with surat ul Fatiha.

The consequences of not performing voluntary elements of prayer.

Ans: The prayer would be valid though there be less rewards due to not following sunnah acts.

The prayer will be nullified, omitting an obligatory element of the prayer wouldn’t be compensated by the prostration of forgetfulness.

The prayer will not be nullified by not doing voluntary acts, but the prostration of forgetfulness should be done in case of omitting stressed voluntary acts.

Pg. no. 63

I think and determine:

Looking around, lack of humility & looking at mobile during the prayer as the person would not focus on the prayer because of them.

It is like Satan steals from the prayer according to hadith.

Pg. no. 68

Explain the significance of the hadith:

We must pray with the best ability of us, we cannot abandon the prayer. In the case of illness or injury we can pray while sitting or lying down.

Give examples of obligatory, voluntary & disliked elements of prayer.

Obligatory: Al Fatihah, Bowing & Two Prostrations.

Voluntary: reading extra Surah after AlFatihah, reading aloud in Fajr, Mughrib, Esha and reading slowly in Thur and Asr.

Disliked elements: moving or looking around.

Make a list of errors of prayer & note down by yourself in ans. No. 3.
