KNOWING THE FATHER

Louis G. HulseyFebruary 6, 2011Casa Grande, Arizona

A Little About Me:

I am in love with Jesus. I am an intercessor. I am a servant.

My Vision: I came to Casa Grande because of three mental pictures:

The Field The Garden The Disillusioned

I Am Commissioned: To raise up an army of believers,

To establish a stronghold of faith.

Only the Lord can do it. Psalms 127:1, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”

The Process: At first I had to do almost everything.

Then God began to raise up His Church.

I began to train leaders. Now they are training others. They are training and equipping families to live in Kingdom Order.

Jesus Knew the Father John 8:54-55 54, “Jesus answered, If I honour

myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:

55, “Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.

Jesus Knew the FatherFrom Eternity

John 8:56-58 56, “Your father Abraham

rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.”

57, “Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?”

58, “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.”

Jesus Knew the Father

From Eternity John 1:1, GNT-TR, “εν αρχη ην ο

λογος και ο λογος ην προς τον θεον και θεος ην ο λογος”

John 1:1, KJV, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 17:5 , “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”

Paul’s Greatest Desire Philippians 3:7-10 KJVA 7, “But what things were gain to me, those I

counted loss for Christ. 8, “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but

loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10, “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;”

Our Purpose Our purpose is that we may

know the Father. Adam knew the Father. Satan and sin destroyed

Adam’s relationship with the Father.

Sin will still destroy your relationship with the Father.

Knowing the Father The Jews did not know the Father,

and could not know the Father in the flesh.

The Jews knew the rules of the Law, but they did not know the Father.

They could not know the Father by keeping the Law. The Law depended upon the flesh.

We cannot know the Father in the flesh.

We can only know the Father in the Spirit.

The Natural Mind The carnal mind cannot know God. Romans 8:7, “Because the carnal

mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”

1 Corinthians 2:14, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

The Natural Mind 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 3, “But if our gospel be hid, it

is hid to them that are lost:” 4, “In whom the god of this

world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Revelation Knowledge Man can only know God by

revelation knowledge. 1 Corinthians 2:7-8, KJV 7, But we speak the wisdom of God

in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

8, Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”

Revelation Knowledge

1 Corinthians 2:9-10, KJV 9, “But as it is written, Eye hath

not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

10, “But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

God is a Spirit Jesus said, “God is a Spirit: and

they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth,” John 4:24.

Only in the Spirit can you have fellowship with the Father.

In the Spirit the Father tells you that you are the apple of His eye, that you have value.

The world has not valued you, but the Father values you.

Wisdom and Revelation Paul prayed that we would receive a

spirit of wisdom and revelation. Ephesians 1:15-17, KJV 15, “Wherefore I also, after I heard of

your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,”

16, “Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;”

17, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”

From Glory to Glory Knowing God by revelation begins

at the new birth and continues through eternity.

John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see [discern] the kingdom of God.”

2 Corinthians 3:18, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Jesus Heard the Father

Jesus heard the voice of the Father and saw His shape.

John 5:37, “And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.”

Jesus Saw the Father Jesus did what He saw the Father doing. John 5:19-20, “Then answered Jesus and

said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20, For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.”

John 5:30, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”

See the Father We also are called to do what we

see the Father doing. We see the Father through the Son. Jesus revealed the glory of the

Father. John 1:18, “No man hath seen God

at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

Be Like the Son We also called to reflect the Father by

being like the Son. John 14:8-9, “Philip saith unto him,

Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9, Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”

You can only know the Father and be like Him by revelation knowledge.
