Go Bad?

JOSEPH

Joseph faced repeated INJUSTICE.

Although OBEDIENT to his father and to God, he was HATED

by his brothers

They sold him as a SLAVE.

Joseph lost his coat, hisINHERITANCE, his home,

and his FAMILY.

Although he RESISTED Potiphar’s wife and

was honorable, he was SLANDERED

He was charged with sexual ASSAULT.

He was thrown into PRISON.

Joseph’s God-given ability to see the

FUTURE blessed his fellow-prisoners, but they soon FORGOT about him back in

prison.

After TWO long years, he is called to

help the Pharaoh

How did Joseph endure this without losing his FAITH or

growing bitter?

He kept the conviction that God REIGNED over

all the details of his life

He TRUSTED God, even when people let

him down.

Where was the Lord in all this?

The Lord was WITH Joseph!

God PROTECTED him by his presence and his

providence–Reuben intervened–Judah suggested

selling him instead of killing him

–Ishmaelite traders–Sold to Potiphar-

captain of the Pharaoh’s guard

God PROSPERED him because of his

character and integrity

• Joseph set moral BOUNDARIES for his

life he wouldn’t cross

God PROMOTED him

–Under Potiphar–Under the Jailer
