1. Problem English classes are considered boring and old

fashioned Typical didactic tools. Teacher does not use technology. The techniques and activities are old fashioned,

mechanical, and repetitive. The monotonous lessons and activities

Diverse set of technological tools and resources used to communicate, and to create, disseminate, store, and manage information

Teachers use technology in current classrooms to convert the lesson into a more accurate and engaging environment than traditional ones.

3. Technological Resources in Education

Tutorial uses: technology does the teaching Exploratory uses: the student is free to roam around the

information presented in the medium. Application uses: technology helps the students in the

educational process by providing them with tools to facilitate the tasks.

Communication uses : technology allows students and teachers to send and receive messages and information to one another through networks or other technologies.

4. New Roles in Education Students’ new roles:

self-learner, team member, and knowledge manager

Teachers’ new roles:

designer, trainer, collaborator, team coordinator, creator, and evaluator of knowledge

5. Advantages of Educational Technology

Technology facilitates the updating of educational material.

It confirms the interaction between the teacher and the student

Technology provides the chance to teach and learn anytime and anywhere

It removes obstacles Technology allows students to have more control

over their own learning, to think analytically and critically, and to work collaboratively

6. Disadvantages of Educational Technology

Technology takes up students’ time that might otherwise be used for doing homework or studying.

It provides accurate as well as inaccurate information.

It fosters isolation because it separates people from family and friends.

Technology presents other negative issues, such as pornography and distracting games.
