Welcome to the new St. Bernard Branch Library

Ground was broken on April 21, 2014.

Work officially began in July, 2014. The first job was to drill the geothermal well.

September, 2014 ‒ The foundation wall forms are installed.

September, 2014 ‒ The concrete slab is finished.

October, 2014 ‒ The steel structure is set in place.

November, 2014 ‒ The exterior sheathing is installed over the frame and ductwork is added

to the interior.

December, 2014 ‒ Stones and brick are added to the exterior.

January, 2015‒ The interior framing and drywall installation begins.

February, 2015‒ Walls begin to take

shape and work

continues, despite the

cold and snow!

March, 2015 ‒ Windows are framed in the octagon and the roofing membrane is installed on the entry canopy.

April, 2015 ‒ The restrooms have tile and flooring and wall tile is installed in the stacks.

April, 2015‒ The concrete sidewalk and entryway are poured.

April, 2015 ‒ A view looking into the staff work room on the right and the new MakerSpace on the left.

May, 2015 ‒ The sliding glass doors are installed.

May, 2015 ‒ The parking lot is created.

June 18, 2015 ‒ Last minute preparations are made before the opening.
