Let’s examine the general layout of the Sigma II catalog with some screen shots.

Step 2 Complete BOM - Catalog Tour

Each motor has its own self contained “section” from which you can select every component you will need for a motor + amp system (no controller).

Detailed amplifier specs. (including drawings) are in their own “SGDH” section at the back of the catalog.

Published performance specs. are based on the matched amp.

Motor dimensions are readily available in each of these sections.

Power – different cables for different size motors (except SGMAH)

Required Cables (every system needs three cables)

Encoder – same cable for entire motor type

I/O – three basicoptions

Step 2 – Complete BOM – Required Cables

Always have the option to build your own….

….and if you want custom lengths or cables longer than 20 meters

Yaskawa sells cable assemblies in pre-configured METER lengths

….build your own is the only way to go.

Step 2 – Complete BOM – Required Cables

Power & Encoder3, 5, 10, 15, 20 meters

I/O0.5, 01, 02, 03 meters

Yaskawa sells connector kits for all power and encoder connections to help facilitate custom cabling.

Step 2 – Complete BOM – Required Cables

Let’s look at some more screen shots from the Product Catalog Supplement to detail cable selection

Reduce input power’s harmonic distortion up to 45%Improve power factor (eliminating nuisance tripping of the DC bus fuse + increase the life of the DC bus capacitors).

DC reactors are NOT usually required. What do they do?

Step 2 – Complete BOM – Motor Specifics

We have just looked at SGMAH motor section and the components common to all motor

series.

Now we will examine the specifics relative to the remaining motor series.

Step 2 – Complete BOM – 400V SGMGH/SH/UH

Performance specs AND Price are independent of voltage rating (when

comparing 200V vs 400V SGMGH/SGMSH)

400V CABLES are a smaller gauge wire and offer a small cost savings. Peripheral devices

like MCCB and contactors will enjoy similar cost savings. 400V of course also offers

lower operating costs.

REGEN and DC reactors do not stay the same when quoting a 200V vs. 400V system!

400V systems inherently require HALF the current of a 200V system…….and as a result
