DESCRIPTION

What are you an expert at? More than 100 preschoolers in Rhode Island, and about a dozen well-known public officials, educators and community leaders, were asked this question. They then created how-to books, which will be displayed in a special exhibit at the Providence Children’s Museum in January 2012. How to Have Fun Outside! was written by Elizabeth Burke Bryant, executive director of R.I. Kids Count and co-chair of the state’s Early Learning Council. Ready to Learn Providence, Making Learning Visible (a program out of Harvard University), and the Providence Children’s Museum collaborated in this project. Over a four-month period, 22 home- and center-based educators met at Ready to Learn Providence to engage in discussions on observing and documenting the learning of young children.
