many signs to lo

ok out for which are

In Megan’s case it would have been possible to assume that she had cushings

and to start treatment. However, we were keen to confirm the diagnosis, so

Megan had several blood tests including the ACTH test. These were positive for

the disease.

TreatmentMegan was immediately started on a medication called

Pergolide which will stop her pituitary gland from

overproducing ACTH. Pergolide comes in the form of

tablets and currently Megan has one tablet daily.

Prognosis

Megan started Pergolide treatment less

than two weeks ago, and has recently had

corrective shoeing. We will hope to see

an improvement in her coat condition and

laminitis over the coming weeks.
