Term 4 Week 6 NAROOMA PUBLIC SCHOOL 21 November 2018
School Captains 2019 We have commenced our structures to elect our school captains for 2019. Year 5 were spoken with regarding what they believe would be wonderful qualities of leaders for our school. Children that are interested have taken a nomination form and will submit their interest prior to the cut-off date to Mrs Muir, if they wish to be considered for School Captain. I wish everyone the best of luck during this process.
‘Four Winds’ Excursion I must congratulate our students on the way they represented the school last Friday at ‘Four Winds’. We all had a great time and enjoyed the musical activities offered for our students We look forward to continuing a strong relationship with ‘Four Winds’ in the future.
Sideshow Alley This Friday, November 23, Year 6 will be conducting their Sideshow Alley to raise funds for their farewell gift at the end of the year to the school. Many different activities and events have been organised for all children to participate in if they wish. Recess and Lunch time will revert to our past model to cater for the event. Children are encouraged to bring in some money which will allow them to have opportunities during the day.
Year 6 In2Uni day Today, Wednesday, our Year 6 children are visiting the University of Wollongong’s Batemans Bay campus where they will experience what it is like to attend University. Hopefully, this program will be the first step in encouraging the students aspiring to attend University by providing them with useful information about programs and the process.
Catholic Scripture at the Church On Thursday during the middle session, our Catholic Scripture students will be walking down to the church and participating in a Mass as part of their program.
Children will be accompanied to the church on this day by an NPS Staff member and a scripture teacher.
End of Year School Disco. The end of year School Disco will be held on Thursday December 6 from 5pm to 7pm. The P & C will once again provide food and drink for purchasing on this day. Please keep an eye out for more information which will be available soon. Paul Sweeney Principal

Come Raindance with us!
Local farmers and the community of Cobar – our sister shire – are severely affected by one of the worst droughts on record in NSW. Things are anticipated to get worse, with a hot, dry summer predicated.
On Friday, 23 November, we’ll be showing our farmers we care by holding the Eurobodalla Raindance, which will raise much-needed funds for drought relief.
Three events will be held simultaneously at Club Catalina at Batemans Bay, the Moruya Golf Club and Narooma Golf Club from 6.30pm. There will be live music, auctions, lucky door prizes and food to share as well as some of Australia’s biggest names - Aussie legends Wilbur Wilde, Frankie J Holden and The Waifs’ Josh Cunningham.
Tickets are on sale now for only $40 per person at www.trybooking.com, the Batemans Bay Visitor Information Centre, Narooma and Moruya Golf Clubs and Club Catalina in Batemans Bay. Everyone including visitors are welcome to attend. There is also a major raffle with the first prize being a fantastic one-off signed Jack Daniel’s guitar, valued at $10,000 – tickets available at Council, Batemans Bay Visitor Centre, Club Catalina and Narooma and Moruya Golf Clubs for $5 each or three for $12.
All proceeds from ticket sales, auctions and the major raffle will go to the Raindance drought relief fund, which will be distributed directly to those in need. More information is at www.esc.nsw.gov.au/raindance.
