GreenfieldSelection and evaluation of potential wind turbine locationsEarlystagedevelopmentofawindparkisoftenthemostchallengingphase.Suitableorproposedareasfordevelopmentofwindprojectsareinvestigated,withtheaimofassessingthefeasibilityofaproject.Feasibilitystudiescoverthefollowingareas:wind, gridconnection, roads, soilconditions and the environ-ment.Thisinitialphasetypicallyendswiththeexistenceofagreementswiththeland-owners,apreliminarycommitmentonfinalgridconnectionandtheauthorities’acknowledgementofthelocationoftheproject.
Project design and authorizationsThisphaseisacontinuationofthepreviousphase,andshouldbeundertakenbyGlobalWindPoweroranotherskilledprojectdeveloper.Adetailedtechnicalandstructuralprojectdesignisprepared.Thisincludesthestudiesandcalculationsrequiredinorderfortheauthoritiestocontinueprocessingtheproject.Thisphaseendswhenalltherequiredpermits for the implementation and operation of the wind turbine projectareinplace,notleastthecrucialbuilding permit,makingtheprojectready-to-build.

TurnkeyImplementationHavingsecuredallthenecessarypermits,thewindturbineprojectisnowreadyforimplementation.However,iftheGreenfielddevelopmenthasbeencarriedoutelsewhere,mostlikelybyanotherdeveloper,GlobalWindPowerstartsbyensuringthattheworkdonemeetsourstandards.Turnkeycomprisesprojectplanning, design, construction and commissioning,allinclosecooperationwiththemaincontractorsandtheturbinemanufacturer(Vestas).
Civil/electrical work and commissioningWeutilizelocalcontractorstoperformcivilandelectricalwork,including:Buildingaccessroads, pouring turbine foundations, laying electricalcablingandconstructionoftransmission substations.Theyknowtheconstructionlegislationineachcountry,andweensurethehigheststandardinprojectmanagementandsitemanagementthroughouttheconstructionstageviaourvastinternationalexpe-rience.Inclosecooperationwiththeturbinemanufacturer(Vestas),wemanagethecommissioningofthewindparkaswellasthefinalgridconnectionofthewindturbineswiththegridoperator.TheTurnkeyphaseiscompletewhenthefinishedwindturbineprojectisputintooperation.

Technical ManagementTechnicalManagementisresponsibleformonitoring, inspection andmaintenance of the wind park and includesongoingcontactwiththewindturbinemanufacturer(Vestas).Ourspecially-trainedengineersandlocaloperationmanagersstandreadytoactandrectifyfaultstoensurethatyourwindparkfunctionsoptimallythroughoutitslifetime.
