Duo Enrollment for DA Employees

• Duo’s Multi-Factor Authentication will be used to authenticate DA employees when using DA Portal, DA’s Outlook Web Access (OWA), and DA’s O365.

• It is RECOMMENDED to have at least 2 – 3 authentication devices.

Open the Duo Enrollment Portal.

Log in with your credentials.

Email Address: jdoexx@sdcda.org

Password: **********

This is the Duo Enrollment page.

To begin, select Start setup.

Select your Authentication Device Type and Select Continue.

It is recommended to use a Mobile Phone, but you have the option to use a Tablet or Landline.

Enter the phone number for your mobile device.

Double-Check that your phone number is entered correctly.

Select the check box and select Continue.

Choose the type of mobile device you are using and select Continue.

Install the Duo Mobile App on your mobile device.

The Duo Mobile App is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

When installed, select I have Duo Mobile installed.

Open the Duo Mobile App on your mobile device.

*Make sure to ALLOW the Duo Mobile App to send notifications and have access to your camera*

Apple Device: Select “ADD ACCOUNT” or the “+” button, on the top-right corner.

Android Device: Select “GET STARTED” or the “+” button, on the top-right corner.

The camera on your mobile device should automatically open.

A barcode should be displayed on your screen.

Scan the barcode with the camera on your mobile device.

When the barcode is scanned, select Continue.

In My Settings & Devices:

• Select “Device Options” to rename, reactivate, and remove devices. (Optional)

• Select “+ Add another device,” to add another authentication device.• It is RECOMMENDED to

have 2 - 3 devices.

• Choose your Default Device.• Default Devices are NOT

set automatically.

• For ALL devices make sure to set When I log in: “Ask me to choose an authentication method”

When finished, select Continue to Login.

*You may need to scroll down to select Save or Continue to Login*

Your device is now ready to approve Duo authentication requests!

This is the Duo login prompt that you will see when attempting to log in.

The following pages will explain the different authentication methods.

Select Call Me and your mobile device will receive a call from 1(858)285-6020.

The automated call will tell you to “Press any key on your phone to log in.”

Once you press any key on your phone, you will be successfully logged in.

Call Me

Select Send Me a Push and your mobile device will receive a notification from the Duo Mobile App.

Open the notification or Open the Duo Mobile App.

If you select APPROVE, it will log you in.

If you select DENY, you will receive a prompt asking, “Why are you denying this request?” Select the reason for denying the login request and it will deny your log in attempt.

The passcode is available on the Duo Mobile App or sent via text message.

Duo Mobile App:

• Open your Duo Mobile app on your mobile device. Select the drop-down arrow and a passcode will be displayed. This passcode is only a temporarypasscode. Refresh if needed.

Text Message:

• Select “Text me new codes” and you should receive a text with a passcode.

On the Duo Prompt page, enter the passcode and select Log in.

You have now enrolled your device with Duo and used multi-factor authentication to log in.
