- 4. Family Matters! Parenting is important factor, but sometimes are not the most influential people in a child's life. Children encounter various social settings throughout different aspects of their lives, such as community based organizations, schools that contribute to overall development.
- 5. Family Matters! Ethnicity, income, and family structure are far less predictable indicators of adolescent behavior than the presence of a caring and nurturing family member. Difficult situations or conditions of instability make the parental influence of utmost importance. In societies that are resource starved or in a state of war, parental support can be the most significant indicator of child resiliency.
