Digi-pak 1 – Inside and CD

Using what I hadHere is an image of what I was using when designing the CD cover.

By using what I already had it saved me a lot of time when editing the photo and producing other parts of the production like the poster/ advert.

I had various ideas of what to use to create the inside of the CD cover. The first idea was to remove the background and crop half of the photo.

After doing so, this is what I ended up with…

Adding some colour and textThis was what I ended up with after copping and removing the background.

I used the colour of the badge for the background colour.

I used the transform tool in photoshop to scale up the photo to the size that it is now.

I used an old fashioned font on the photoshop software as the title for the band name.

Finally I added the lyrics of the song to make the page a bit more interesting.

A bit differentAfter keeping the previous idea in mind, I used the photo but cropped it in to. I done this because of the lighting on the models face. One half light the other dark. I thought of the ‘good vs. evil’ theme always current with war.

I then decided to change over the colours of the fonts and background, making the background white and the lyrics gold to see which one worked best.

The final inside cover designAfter using peoples opinions on the two different designs, the first produced idea was the most preferred design.

I then used the groups opinions and went back to the first idea but changed the background colour to green.

It was changed to this colour as it connected the modern day green fatigues commonly seen with British soldiers.

I then changed the writing colour back to white, using the colour in the badge.

CD designThe CD design we had was simple but effective. We thought of using the Tony Blair mask, as seen in the video, to create a creepy effect when the CD is playing.

The idea was to place the mask onto a black background and use the same font on the cover to continue the continuity idea.

The final CD design

This is the final design for the CD.

I used the transform tool on photoshop to scale the image down to a suitable size for the CD.

I place the ‘disc’ logo commonly seen on all kinds of CD’s, to give it that authentic feel.

I used the same font as used on the inside cover of the CD pack and used the colour from the badge.

All helped create a link to the other in one way or another.
