Learning Conferences
Last week’s Learning Conferences were a wonderful opportunity for
students, parents and teachers to share past learning and future
learning goals. If you missed you child’s Learning Conference please
make sure you contact your child’s teacher to organise a time.
Late Arrivals and Early Departures
Our school day starts at 9:00am and finishes at 3:15pm. All parents and
guardians must now come via the office if they are
dropping their child off after 9:00am, or if they are
picking their child up before 3.15pm. There is a
book to sign students both in and out of school.
Illness
There have been a number of students who have
been sick over the past couple of weeks with
colds and stomach bugs. Please keep your child
home if they are unwell as it is very easy to spread
unwanted germs to other students and teachers.
Each class has anti-bacterial hand wash which
the children are encouraged to use to keep the
spread of germs under control.
Prep Enrolments 2013
If you have a child starting Prep next year could
you please come in and fill out an enrolment form.
We would like all enrolments in to the office by
next Friday as this will help us with our organisation
and planning for the upcoming school year. If you
know of any other families interested in enrolling
their child at ISPS please ask them to come in and
enrol their child.

PREP
We learnt what is healthy food and what is
not healthy food.
We learnt not to touch dangerous things
like glass or needles. You have to get an
adult to pick them up.
We were not allowed to say the “P” word
to Harold. We loved Harold!
Eva & Jameson P.S. (the “P” word is puppet!)
Grades 5&6
We learnt about legal drugs and what they can
do if you don’t use them carefully.
We also talked about the effects of alcohol and
cigarettes on the body. There are over 1000
chemicals in one cigarette!
I found it really interesting that it is so easy for a
non-smoker to become a regular smoker.
Vinnie
Grades 3&4
We learnt not to take any medicines without adult supervision.
Drugs like Panadol can be dangerous if we don’t take the right
amount.
We learnt that negative comments hurt people so we are trying to
turn negatives into positives. We are learning about constructive
criticism and feedback.
Harold hasn’t changed much at all over the years.

Grade 1
In the Life Ed van we learnt about how to keep
our body healthy.
We learnt that smokers shouldn’t smoke with kids
in the car. We need fresh air for our lungs.
We learnt about safety. You should always put on
your seatbelt before you start the car.
We loved meeting Harold!

Grades 2&3
We learnt not to smoke because it can kill you.
We learnt not to give our bodies too much sugar, like sugary drinks .
This makes our organs work too fast to get rid of the sugar and our
bodies don’t like this.
Healthy foods and water are best for our bodies.
Harold was tall and cute!
