The Jury (porota)• The jury chosen for selection of a final

• The President of the EMI selected the jurors from a list of candidates submitted by the national central banks.

• Jury members were completely independent of any national central bank or printing works involved in the competition.

The Winning Design

• The winning designs chosen by the EMI Council were produced by Robert Kalina of the Österreichische Nationalbank and inspired by the theme “Ages and styles of Europe”.

• They were chosen because they unite historical developments in technology, art and communication into one harmonious composition, and they epitomize (představovat) the dawn of a new Europe with its shared cultural heritage and the vision of a joint future in the next millennium.
