25 – 27 AUGUST, THURSDAY – SATURDAY – OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA Accommodations: Little Vumbura Camp
Return to the airport this morning for your scheduled flight (not included) to Maun, Botswana. On arrival at Maun Airport and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met and assisted by a Wilderness Safaris representative to your light aircraft for your onward air transfer to Little Vumbura Camp where you will spend the next three days game viewing in this exciting area.
Little Vumbura Camp is an intimate tented camp situated on its own small well-treed island is a perennial favorite among Wilderness travelers. On arrival the staff will welcome you into one of the six large tented rooms. As with the main area, each tent is shaded by giant ebony trees and looks out onto the surrounding floodplains. A raised library, cozy lounge and rustic bar provide shaded relaxation during the day in between activities and convivial atmosphere at night. The star-deck is the ideal platform for appreciation of the night sky and the varied activities on offer allow consistently good game viewing. There is little doubt that Little Vumbura provides the quintessential Okavango experience. Did you know?
Little Vumbura is part of a ground-breaking partnership that brings the benefits of ecotourism to five rural villages. The concession is hugely diverse with floodplains, wooded islands, mopane woodland and Okavango waterways. You can explore the varied habitats by open 4x4 vehicle (day and night), boat, mokoro, or on foot. Woodland-loving antelope like sable and kudu roam side by side with water-loving red lechwe and reedbuck. The
diversity of prey species results in a wide variety of predators, from lion and spotted hyena, to leopard, and occasionally cheetah and wild dog.
The diversity is a boon for keen birders with Rosy-throated Longclaw, Black Coucal and Wattled Crane. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included Activities: Twice daily scheduled camp activities Also Includes: Non-premium beverages and Laundry Website: http://www.wilderness-safaris.com/camps/little-vumbura

28 – 30 AUGUST, SUNDAY – TUESDAY – LINYANTI REGION, BOTSWANA Accommodations: DumaTau
Enjoy a morning game drive before returning to camp for breakfast. At a time to be advised by the camp management, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your air transfer from Little Vumbura Camp to Duma Tau Camp. Three days of game activities at Duma Tau. On offer are day and night game drives, guided walks (on request) and seasonal boating. Nearby platforms and hides also present excellent wildlife opportunities.
Overlooking the broad Linyanti River, DumaTau means ‘roar of the lion’, but it is the large herds of elephant for which the area is most well-known. These – and much more – can be seen on game drive or from your spacious tented unit. There are ten luxurious, canvas-roofed en-suite tents – eight twin and two family units – all with wide-angle views of the river. The same spectacular vistas can be seen from our expansive open deck, the dining room and lounge areas. With easy access to a range of habitats, you can look forward to excellent wildlife viewing all year round – prolific plains game along with abundant predators. Did you know?
DumaTau is involved in elephant research and the possible impact that the high numbers have on the vegetation and other animal species.
The camp lies on the Linyanti River, close to the drier mopane woodlands and the Savute Channel; the latter being famous as a sporadic and unusual watercourse.
Red lechwe, zebra, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyena are some of the other species that can be found in the area.
DumaTau is a birder’s paradise. The area has been internationally recognized as an IBA (Important Bird Area). Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included Activities: Twice daily scheduled camp activities Also Includes: Non-premium beverages and Laundry Website: http://www.wilderness-safaris.com/camps/dumatau-camp

Enjoy one last game drive in Botswana before returning to camp for breakfast. At a time to be advised by the camp management, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your private light aircraft transfer from Duma Tau Camp to Kasane Airport. On arrival in Kasane, Botswana and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by a Wilderness Safaris representative who will assist you with the arrangements of your private light aircraft transfer to Ongava Lodge in Etosha, Namibia.
http://www.wilderness-safaris.com/camps/dumatau-camp
Ongava Lodge overlooks a productive waterhole and the impressive landscape beyond. Settle into one of the en-suite chalets built within a web of mopane trees with a deck stretching out over the vast plains. In between activities, refreshments will be served in the thatched main area or at the swimming pool. In the evenings, dining under the stars while being entertained by
wildlife at the waterhole will become a favorite pastime. Situated within its own private reserve, only a stone’s throw from the world-famous Etosha National Park, you can look forward to a fascinating journey with us.
Ongava Game Reserve was formed in 1991, when its shareholders converted four unproductive cattle ranches into a
highly productive reserve, now home to large concentrations of wildlife. Etosha National Park takes its name from the world-famous Etosha Pan, one of the largest saltpans in the region.
Around the pan, the topography ranges from broad swathes of mopane and tall tree canopies of woodland to open plains and dolomite hills.
Game drives in both reserves will display a wide complement of wildlife including black-faced impala. Their predators, in particular lion, are never far away.
Ongava is home to one of the largest black and white rhino populations in Namibia thanks to a successful reintroduction program.
