It Can Be A Difficult TimeIt Can Be A Difficult Time• A new school year has arrived.• Many difficult challenges lie ahead:

–Intimidation, nervousness and fear are the feelings often felt by many students.

• The devil will be at his best trying to take full advantage of these vulnerabilities –

Let us take heed! 2 Corinthians 2:11

Purpose In Your Heart• Now is the time to prepare yourselves

for the temptations that will come.

Daniel 1:8; 1 Cor. 10:12

• Stand up for what you believe in.

– Like Jesus we can say, “it is written!”

Matthew 4:4; 1 Peter 3:15

Work Hard

• Laziness is a temptation for many students, especially if there is no motivation to apply yourself.

• Hard work is a biblical principle.

• John 9:4; 2 Thessalonians 3:10

Do Not Cheat

• Cheating can sometimes be so easy it is done without consideration.

• Don’t be fooled – cheating is sinful!

• Proverbs 11:1• Job 31:6 Let me be weighed on honest

scales, That God may know my integrity.

Pick Your Friends Wisely• It is in our power to decide who it is

that we will associate with.

• We must not unite with the ungodly!

• Ephesians 5:11• 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived:

"Bad company ruins good morals."

Listen To Parental Advice• Yes, parents were your age once too!

• Heeding your parents advice and

counsel is usually not what’s “popular.”

• But God tells you… Proverbs 19:20;

Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

Walk Worthy In Dress• The latest styles and fashions are not

always best suited for the Christian.

• 1 Thessalonians 2:12 • 1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that

women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.

Do Not Follow The Crowd

• Peer-pressure is very real.

• Sex, drugs and alcohol are temptations for even the youngest among us.

• Exodus 23:2 “You shall not follow a crowd to do evil...”

• 1 Corinthians 10:13

Obey The Gospel• We are to be disciples (learners)

of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19• If you have not yet become a Christian,

you do not have Jesus on your side to

help you overcome the difficult days that

lie ahead-why not die with Christ today?• Romans 6:1-11; 3:23; 2 Tim. 2:10
