Atmosphere

Is a mixture of different gasses. High above the planet it becomes thinner until it becomes reaches space. It is divided into five layers.

Troposphere

It is the first layer of Earths atmosphere, it is where all weather takes place and most clouds form.

Tropopause

Between the troposphere and stratosphere.

Solar Radiation

Energy from the sun, would be harmful if it wasn't for the Ozone Layer.

Ultraviolet rays

Sunlight

Ozone Layer Is in the stratosphere, protects earth from

harmful solar radiation.

Stratosphere

The third layer of the atmosphere. Absorbs the ultraviolet rays and solar radiation by use of the Ozone Layer.

Meteors

Also known as falling stars. Are small pieces of rock, dust, or metal from space that enter the atmosphere, were they are burned up.

Mesosphere

The fourth layer of the atmosphere. Is the coldest of the atmospheres and is were most meteors are burned up in.

Radio waves

Carries sound through molecules, an example would be a radio.

Photons

Light energy

Aurora

Electrical charge in the ionosphere usually seen in the north pole.

Ionosphere

Also known as the thermosphere. The fifth and last layer of the atmosphere. This layer is electrically charged and makes radio communication possible by reflecting radio waves. Absorbs the most energetic photons from the Sun. Is also were aurora takes place.
