• Customer has infinite options• Competition is everywhere and anywhere• Resources are migrating and are limited• Stakeholders/Shareholders are Active,

Impatient, & Demanding• There are huge Opportunities and Risks that

are existing simultaneously

Strategy -1

• To be different and smart – in the context of the business operation

• Sustainable and should generate revenue (monetized)

• Cash cannot be generated if one is not different and smart

• No point in strategizing if various functions in the organization cannot be quantified

Strategy - 2

• To be different is to –– Select the right Market and Customer

Base/Business Group and to select our competition

– Ensure the pricing and Value proposition is right• To be smart is to –

– Have a VALUE DELIVERY MODEL

Strategy - 3• Value = P+S+E

– Value is partly subjective and partly objective– Customers look for:

• Product - having high quality product/service• Solution – product should address customer’s most difficult

problem• Experience – every touch point should create a positive

image in the mind and heart of the customers– Value Delivery Model:

• Create P + S + E• Communicate &• Deliver

Strategy - 4• Value is nothing without performance• Performance = Opportunities/Resources• Peak (Dramatic) Performance occurs when

opportunities increases by leaps and bounds & resources are coming down

• Ownership of assets and people is not a pre-condition of control

• Both difference and smartness are only related to existing environment

• Context of Existing Environment includes:– Organization’s Culture– Teamwork– Style of Leadership Team– Attitude and beliefs of each employee

Action• Always remember that the strategy for the organization is as

good as how individuals in the organisation follow it – based on the organization’s goals

•Everyone in the organization should understand why strategy is needed

• Each leader/manager should think of himself/herself as the CEO to build and implement strategy

• Each leader should focus on MY strategy. • Your strategy can be smart and different only if You are smart

and different
