The Problem

• One way to reduce the weight of the aircraft is:

Aircraft without windows.

• Advantages:

– Engine power would be lower;

– Would reduce the price of this component, engine;

– Fuel consumption reduce, too; and

– Less CO2 emission

• Resulting costs for companies fall, and consequently for passengers, too.

The Problem

• But flying in an airplane without windows seems strange to many people, especially for those claustrophobic.

How make pleasant and comfortable flights for passengers on Aircraft without windows?

Solution

• Engineers of the Center for Process Innovation (CPI) are developing a technology that provides a panoramic view of outside the aircraft for passengers.

• Replaced by large screens that will enable continuous viewing from outside.

• As if in a glass aircraft totally transparent .

• The secret would be in cameras positioned on the outside of the aircraft.

• And screens can display landscapes, like a forest.

• The screens are panels where passengers can touch, receive flight information, and access entertainment system. Furthermore, can control the lighting intensity.

• The screens would be made with composite materials from light-emitting diode (OLED) when activated by electricity.

• Unlike the plasma displays and liquid crystal, they don't need backlight, which means using less power and may be thinner than other screens.

Disadvantages:

1. The initial investment is high.

2. Because the external environment is very aggressive to cameras, it would need constant maintenance and could present problems during flight causing discomfort to passengers;
