“Inessential but conducive to pleasure

and comfort.” Studies also show how

comfort and stress-relief in the

work environment often leads to

more productive employees.

3630 Peachtree masters this concept

of working luxury and has effectively

applied it throughout the building.

Now Studio 495 can take your

concept one step farther by extending

it to the parking deck elevator lobbies.

This area is definitely an inessential

place to experience luxury but it also

serves as the perfect opportunity

to create a positive experience for

repeat commuters to the property.

The ExperienceSight, sound, smell, taste and touch.

These five senses encompass

the human experience, enabling us

to perceive the world around us

and communicate with others.

With this in mind there is no guess as

to why when most people are waiting

in a parking garage they see their

loud, smelly and visually unappealing

experience a negative one. By pairing

each of the five senses with a distinct

pattern, we can create a classy and

effective way to provide a memorable

wayfinding experience.

tasteFor centuries, mint has been

enjoyed for its aroma, and great

taste. Long known for its ability to

settle a nervous stomach, mint

has long been part of both the

cuisine and the medicinal cultures

of societies as diverse as

the Middle East, India and Europe.

Mint is well known for its ability

to sooth the digestive tract and

reduce the severity and length of

stomach aches.

The floor directly in front of the

elevators will be used as a wayfinding

device for those exiting the elevator

as well as for those in the lobby.

The fresh, citrus scent of

oranges is wonderfully refreshing

and uplifting. Orange essential

oil efficiently tackles the problem

of colds and flu. It detoxifies

the body and boosts the lymphatic

system. At the same time, it

also takes care of the collagen

formation in the skin. Orange

essential oil is brought to large

use in Aromatherapy, as it is

considered to bring calm and

peace to the person, to whom this

oil is applied. The shelf life of

oil extracted from sweet orange

is usually 6 months.

Magnetic Poetry can be used

to compose poems and songs,

fight writer’s block, or to leave

messages on a public surface

(similar to a household message

board). Since there is a limited

number of words to work with,

“magnetic poets” must find

creative substitutions and unique

arrangements to convey meaning.

placement, they can dramatically

shift the flow of energy in any

given space. Mirrors also bring a

sense of refreshment and calm and

can also be used for the obvious

instance, is known to reduce

stress and anxiety. One hospital

study even found that heart

patients received the same anti-

anxiety benefits from listening

to 30 minutes of classical music

as they did from taking the drug

the British Transport Police

Underground stations in some

of the area’s most dangerous

neighborhoods. After playing the

music for six months: Robberies

were cut by 33 percent.

Studio 495 is a graphic design development venture of the Savannah College of Art and Design that cultivates and promotes the work of talented SCAD students. An innovative concept for an educational institution, Studio 495 uses traditional and digital tools for practical problem solving and create work that will be produced for a consumer market.
