Beaumont Scout Reservation offers program opportunities during the “off-season” to Scouts and units. These off season programs allow units to use cookie cutter program that is provided by the council for their camp outs at Beaumont. These programs are also open to Scouts who may not have the opportunity to attend their unit’s monthly activities. Learn about the fundamentals of game design. Some may ask how we design games at camp. Camp is all about playing games and having fun, so we are experts in this area. Scouts and Venturers will learn the basics of Game Design and theory. Scouts can create games that they can bring back to play at meetings or campouts. Our Game Design philosophy centers around the ideals of COPE.
Registration the day of the Program will take place at the Cub World Activity Center in Camp.
Program for Boy Scouts / Venturers Boy Scouts and Ven-turers will work on completing require-ments from the Game Design merit badge. They will get to play games from other Scouts.

It is recommended that participants review the merit badge pamphlet ahead of time so they can come prepared to create their own game.
What happens if I do not complete the merit badge at camp? If you finish all of your practical requirements you are encouraged to take your counselor’s phone number and set up a time to finish the oral or writ-ten requirements.

These programs are also open to Scouts who may not have the opportunity to attend their unit’s monthly activities. Navigation is an important s kill for any Scout. Orienteering and Geocaching are both popular activities for outdoor enthuisists. Scouts will have the opportunity to work on either Orienteering or Geocaching badges while attending Navigation camp. Will you choose a Map and Compass or a GPS and coordinates? Registration the day of the Program will take place at the Cub World Activity Center in Camp Gray.

Scouts can learn about some of these careers at Beau-Tech Camp. The skilled trades are an important part of keep America going. Beau-Tech Camp introduces some of these carreers to our Scouts. Beaumont Scout Reservation offers program opportunities during the “off-season” to Scouts and units. These off season programs allow units to use cookie cutter program that is provided by the council for their camp outs at Beaumont. These programs are also open to Scouts who may not have the opportunity to attend their unit’s monthly activities. One of the favorite areas for Scouts at summer camp is shooting sports. Archery, rifle, and shotgun are some of the most popular merit badges during the summer. Shooting Sports camp is an opportunity for Scout who didn’t get to participate in these merit badges in the summer to hone their skills and for those who want to try their hand at finishing a merit badge they started awhile back. Scouts will learn rifle, shotgun, or archery techniques and safety.

One of the most popular merit badges during the summer is Kayaking. Kayaking camp is an opportunity for a Scout who didn’t get to participate in Kayaking merit badge in the summer to hone their skills. Scouts will learn kayaking techniques and safety.

Beaumont Scout Reservation offers program opportunities during the “off-season” to Scouts and units. These programs are also open to Scouts who may not have the oppor-tunity to attend their unit’s monthly activities. Learn how to boulder, climb and rappel! Climbing camp introduces Boy Scouts and Venturers to the basics of technical rock climbing, bouldering and rappelling. Participants will learn how to tie knots needed for climbing and rappelling as well as proper techniques for belaying and spotting. Climbing camp gives Scouts and Venturers the opportunity to learn what it takes to start a hobby of technical rock climbing. Registration the day of the Program will take place at the Climbing tower.
Program for Boy Scouts / Venturers Boy Scouts will work on completing require-ments from the Climb-ing merit badge, while Venturers will work on completing the moun-taineering elective for the Ranger Award.

This year Beaumont Scout Reservation Second Season includes 3 ATV camps at Beaumont. Boy Scouts and Venturers will learn the safety techniques for safely operating an All-Terrain 4 Wheeler.
