Parish President Current Candidates:

• President David Peralta: Indicted by 3 different grand juries over the last year, supportive of oil and gas industry/anti suit

• Guy McInnis: Member of the Parish Council, believed to be supportive of filing lawsuits

• Wayne Landry: Former member of the Parish Council, Hospital Executive, ran for Sherriff in 2011 has not taken a stance on litigation

Possible Candidates:

• Tony “Ricky” Melerine: Former Councilman, his main issue is trying to stop river diversions/CPRA’s Master Plan

Jefferson Parish

Key Races –• Parish President• Parish Council

Jefferson Parish

Parish President Current Candidates:

• Elton Lagasse: Current member of the Parish Council. Has early support of Council Chairman Chris Roberts and former State Rep./current Parish Councilman Rick Templet. Voted in favor of filing Jefferson Parish’s lawsuit.

• Mike Yenni: Current mayor of Kenner. Grandson of Parish President Joseph Yenni. No public position on the lawsuit.

• The race is shaping up to be a generational battle with Lagasse being 75 and Yenni being 38.

St. John the Baptist

• Parish President Natalie Robottom is currently under investigation for violating the Parish Charter, and for her hiring practices.

• Parish Council Chairman Michael Wright announced he would challenge Robottom in May, but dropped out in June.

• Pat Brister, the incumbent has over 250K in her campaign account.

• Very pro-business, supports the Helis project with heavy limitations.

• Left wing environmental groups are currently recruiting candidates to run for State Sen/Rep, Parish Council and Parish President

• The groups:• LEAN• Bucket Brigade• Concerned Citizens of St.

Tammany• Preserve St. Tammany• The Green Army

• Chris Loar: Current Chairman of the Parish Council. Executive at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital System, board member of BRAC. Supported raising sales taxes on the council for improving infrastructure. Has 150K in his campaign account at last filing.

• Kenny Matassa: 4 term member of the Gonzales City Council, parish employee for over 20 years, changed party in June from a Democrat to a Republican. Has pledged not to raise taxes.

• Clint Cointment: Has never held public office. Owns a land surveying company. Wants to streamline permit approval in the parish to make it easier for development.

• Arlanda Williams, Member of the Parish Council. Involved with several environmental groups. Member of the LA Democratic Party Central Committee where she voted to support the SLFPA-East suit.

• Gary Duhon, is the only announced candidate, wants to attract oil and gas jobs to the parish and put it on the same level as Terrebonne and Lafourche
