Objective OF the Game

• “contribute to the further development of (…) marine spatial planning (by) reinforcing and extending existing networks and sharing knowledge and experience between scientists, managers and planners (…) test how (planning and scientific) data can be used in the development of an MSP plan (…)’

• The underlying complexities of MSP: both ecological-technical and social

political

• The underlying regulatory principles and institutional frameworks of MSP

• The joint development of (best) practices of MSP

• The use of science, knowledge, data, methods and tools in MSP

Objective IN the game

“Make a (draft) integrated Marine Spatial Plan (MSP): define its planning

horizon, indicate the various spatial functions and present a limited set of

(inter)national policy guidelines that will enforce the MSP.” The policy report

(two pages) also includes a brief description of the process which was followed

and policy instruments which have been used.”

 

The approved MSP of each country and the process that led to it, will be

presented by one or two planners of each country at the annual Regional

Coloured Sea Convention (RCSC) on Wednesday,12th of November 2013,

10.30h.
